VP - Technology, Media & Telecom ("TMT") Investment Banking, HSBC Securities (USA) Inc., New York, NY: 

 

Responsible for the creation and delivery of sector-based intellectual capital to drive corporate finance and strategic dialogue with TMT corporate and financial sponsor clients. Lead the coverage of certain TMT clients as well overall contribution to the further development of a successful TMT Investment Banking franchise in the Americas. Understand client needs and deliver innovative solutions across all product lines and gain significant business and sustainable returns for the Group. Develop and maintain ‘trusted advisor/financer’ relationship and access at key decision maker level for assigned current and target clients. Work to reposition the firm to higher value-added solicitation, enhancing the perception of the Bank amongst its existing and prospective clients. Co-ordinate origination and execution of investment banking business across products. Drive achievement against targets for revenue generation, product alignment and cost management. Contribute to the building of a professional, proactive, and performance-driven culture; assist with succession planning for the sector and/or region and participate in coaching schemes as appropriate. Establish and maintain networks for co-operation with other HSBC businesses, to support the creation of solutions to customer needs that span geographical/product boundaries and regulatory environments. Manage deal teams to ensure that transactions are completed both in a timely and effective manner.

 

 

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, $250,000 to $260,800 per year.

Requirements

Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive post baccalaureate work experience in investment banking in the TMT sector.

 

Qualifying experience must include at least 5 years in:

·         Origination and execution of investment banking transactions for TMT clients.

·         Developing relationships with executives at TMT clients and investment professionals in private equity firms focused on the TMT sector.

·         Financial modeling for a variety of investment banking transactions including IPOs, follow-on offerings, convertible bonds, acquisition financing, LBO financing, buyside and sell side M&A,
and company valuations.

·         Preparing and presenting detailed marketing materials.

·         Due diligence investigation reviews of companies in connection with investment banking transactions.

Qualifying experience must include at least 3 years in:

·         Investment banking product knowledge and core banking skills across fixed income, equity, and M&A.

Must have or be able to obtain Series 7, 63, and 79 FINRA licenses.

Up to 25% international and domestic travel required.
