Job description

The Trade Middle Office Assistant role is to provide a high level of service to customers whilst minimizing operational loss, primarily through checking documents and/or preparation of outgoing advices and monitoring transactions.
 
Liaison with relationship managers and customers on routine matters via client services where appropriate.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
Impact on the Business
Contribute to the operational efficiency and cost effectiveness of the Business Services Centre/Department.
React promptly to requests received from GTRF Sales/Relationship managers and client services in respect of the processing of client transactions.
By ensuring transactions are processed within defined SLAs and in accordance with laid down procedures.
Provide support for business partners.
Active participation in meetings.
 
Customers / Stakeholders
Ensure our customers receive a quality service from all areas.
Promote and enhance HSBC’s Trade & Guarantee capabilities.
Process work to greed centre standards and service level parameters.
React promptly to customer enquiries, ensuring delivery of premier services. Maintaining and developing customer relationships, seeking feedback as appropriate.
Leadership & Teamwork
Mentor and provide guidance to more junior members of the team to facilitate their enhanced learning and development
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Display Group values of Open, Connected & dependable.
 
Operational Effectiveness & Control
Continually reassess the operational risks inherent in the area of responsibility.
Ensure full compliance with relevant governing rules/FIM/Group Audit as well as other external regulatory guidelines and compliance requirements.
Enhance technical knowledge. 
By taking account of legal and regulatory business. requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology, by ensuring transactions handled in accordance with FIM & Bank Policy Guidelines  
 

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Trade
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Administration
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. trade support
A desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers
A broad understanding of financial budgets/statements/models, with experience of analysing data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting
A track record of effectively handling complex sales, to meet the needs of demanding customers, in a fair and ethical way
The base location for this role is Leicester.
