Job description
The Test Manager role is based within CDD R2 within HTS SWD has responsibility for working with Business areas to deliver software solutions that meet the RBWM strategy. This includes the implementation of both Global and Regional software solutions into UK and Europe across all brands. The successful candidates will work managing and leading test phases of these projects to ensure successful implementation both from a quality and efficiency viewpoint.
The Test Manager role within RISK will have responsibility for overseeing and managing the quality of deliverables from both the SWD Global and Regional Channels at various points in the project lifecycle. The successful candidates will have a primary reporting line into the Delivery Manager/Project Manager of the project/programme.
Your responsibilities will include:
Defining and implementing Project Strategies covering all testing activities within each project
Represent testing at all key project meetings and provide a single point of accountability and escalation for testing within the project
The development and ownership of testing documentation in line with HSBC standards
Managing the risk and the quality of deliverables against scope, budget and schedules
Provide on-going input into the overall process improvement of the Testing discipline within CDD
Establish effective working relationships with other areas of HSBC related in the end to end testing cycle (eg Business, Information Security & Risk, Change Delivery etc)
Provide the testing sign-off and recommendations for the production release
Desired profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Relevant product knowledge including Experience of leading testing and associated deliverables within the project lifecycle
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Experience of leading testing and associated deliverables within the project lifecycle
Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Ability to prioritize work effectively and deliver within agreed service levels in a diverse and ever changing environment
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. To drive and lead geographically disbursed team and pull them together to achieve common objectives
Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. Successful co-ordination and delivery of services involving elements delivered by teams internal and external to SWD and HSBC
Relevant product knowledge including Experience and exposure to working on medium/large projects is desirable but not essential
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Strong technical knowledge and understanding of functional system testing, UAT and other lifecycle non
- functional testing activities is desirable but not essential
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. A detailed understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies is desirable but not essential
A flexible and adaptable management style with experience of developing yourself and others
Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively and winning over audiences with compelling and persuasive presentations
Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same
A track record of making strategic business decisions, considering relevant risks, long term implications, commercial realities and stakeholders' needs
Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
Proven experience of successful project management, utilising relevant tools and techniques to ensure consistent delivery
