About Retail Banking and Wealth Management
Retail Banking and Wealth Management serves millions of customers worldwide through our branch network, call centres, and digital and mobile banking. We also connect institutional and retail clients with investment opportunities through our Global Asset Management division. Simpler, faster, and more efficient. These are the underlying principles of the RBWM IT team. To help us achieve this, we are developing a new online banking service with improved security, improved experiences, and improved features. The purpose is to provide Retail Banking and Wealth Management services to HSBC’s customers across browser, mobile and tablet and continue to evolve how we connect and interact with our customers. Key Objectives for Technology Project Management:
Technology Project Management jobs are accountable for successful delivery of Technology projects and ensuring benefits realisation. Project outputs may form part of a technology-based change programme, delivery of a technology-only Programme, or may be standalone.The scope of projects may be global and may span multiple HSBC business areas.
Principle Accountabilities:
The Project Management role will hold most or all of these responsibilities:
· Managing the project approach, building stakeholder buy-in around the project plan, commitments and changes
· Supporting Technology teams to manage delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, resourcing, dependencies, communications and budgets
· Working with the Technology team and Product Owner to drive improvements in productivity through backlog management, maturity in the use of Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Lean), and corresponding management of dependencies
· Providing management to maintain a focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives, where appropriate, and to the change portfolio across HSBC
· Managing, monitoring and reporting progress, issues, dependencies and risks to the programme management, internal stakeholders and/or steering committees. Making recommendations to influence decision-making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
· Enforcing process discipline and improvements in areas of expertise, such as disciplined agile software delivery, production support processes, or continuous DevOps pipelines development
· Helping with the development and running of the programme management office or project management practice
· Ensuring adherence to standard controls and drives teams to achieve compliance and framework, capability management, security controls and technology architecture designs
· Establishing effective governance and controls, in line with Business Transformation Framework, and co-ordinating cross DevOps and cross Global Business/Global Functions delivery
Desired profile
Qualifications :
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications:
Experience/Qualification Requirements:
· At least 3 years of experience in a IT project/programme management role
· PMP accreditation preferred
· Agile certification preferred (such as DAD, Scrum, Kanban)
· Financial industry experience, especially Banking, preferred
· Minimum five years of experience working within IT
· Experience of working with teams/resources across different time zones is an advantage
· Must be willing to occasionally work unsociable hours in order to collaborate with different countries
