Role Purpose (overall high level summary of the role)

The role encompasses a number of tasks involving KYC analysis across multiple business lines and ensuring AML Regulations, policies/procedures are maintained and adhered to.This role also involves liaising with the business partners as well as colleagues and senior onshore partners thus ensuring timely resolution of queries.

Additional for customer contact role, need to perform outbound calls to customers / receive inbound calls from customers with responsible for completing the KYC profile. Customers are classified as ‘Non-SCC High Risk' and ‘Non-SCC Normal Risk'.

· Production of KYC profile to the highest quality standard & in line with the latest policies and procedures. Individuals are required to keep themselves updated on the latest procedural/ policy changes across all streams.
· Obtain & update all missing client documentation from client (with the help of the RMs / CLG) Sourcing & updating accurate and relevant client data from the internet & or other bespoke information providers.
· Following up on client profiles(In line with the latest escalation matrix) & making sure that all levels of signoff in line with latest Id matrix
· Take complete ownership of any profiles/tasks that have been assigned until stage of completion. This could be a new request or a request or work item that has been reassigned.
· Ensure one meets the set productivity target and Quality target month on month
· Profiles to be sent for audit (after receiving all information) within standard timelines that have been defined.
· Timely and accurate updating of the management information and / or control sheets as advised.
· Understand & comply with all relevant policies & procedures issued by the Group &contained within the group
· Have sufficient knowledge to handle FIG, Public sector, SCC/High risk client).
· Maintain GL2 status or above.

· Meet the needs and expectations of customers by ensuring that escalations and complaints are handled in a timely and appropriate manner.

· Provide coaching and mentoring to the new hires/new trainees

Role Context (The environment and operating conditions of the role including the extent of guidance and authority)

· The objective of KYC Services is to provide CMB clients with a globally consistent, and best in class KYC process, in over 80 countries. It ensures that KYC profiles are prepared in accordance with Group and Regulatory Policy, obtaining documents as required from the client/ relationship manager, undertake all the necessary due diligence checks and ensure appropriate escalation is followed according to Policy. The KYCS Service function has onshore hubs in New York, London, Dubai, Paris and Hong Kong and supporting GSC centres in Bangalore, Kolkata, Manila, Krakow and Guangzhou.

· KYC Services is responsible for providing centralized KYC production, validation of clients in support of both client on-boarding and periodic maintenance of client information. It has been tasked with creating a KYC utility service to provide a consistent approach for KYC across the 87 countries of the Group for Global Banking and Markets clients and top end CMB as part of the overall Global Standards Project. The organization is expected to go through a transformation for the next 5 years where new policies, processes and technologies will be implemented. Throughout this time, the organization will need a dedicated, senior process manager that will drive organization's continuous improvement activities.

The jobholder will also continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.

This will be achieved by ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.

Also by addressing any areas of concern in conjunction with line management and/or the appropriate department.

Demonstrate leadership on Regulatory & Compliance matters. Maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with section B.1.2 of the Group Operations FIM.

Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements)

The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.

The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term ‘compliance' embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.

This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.

Qualifications :

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications ( For the role – not the role holder. Minimum requirements of the role.)

·  Excellent understanding of KYC, financial regulatory environment and AML risk implications.
·  Thorough understanding of legal structures of various client types: financial institutions, corporate, quoted companies, private companies, funds, SPV's etc.
·  Proven skill sets in analysing implications of mergers and acquisitions on legal identities & ownership structures of Corporate, FIs & Funds.
·  Sound knowledge of financial regulatory requirements.
·  Ability to interpret complex changes in regulatory guidelines and assess impact.
·  Excellent communication skills.
·  Team player and ability to manage people and performance.
·  Ability to work well under pressure with high degree of accuracy.
·  Good understanding of MS office and proven skills on banking platforms.
·  Self-driven.

·  Minimum Qualification: University Graduate

·  Graduation in Commerce/Finance/Law or equivalent would be preferred
