Role Title: Software Engineer

Role Purpose / Description


The Java engineering team is responsible for both development and maintenance of the microservices Collateral platform. HSBC is seeking a Java DevOps Engineer to join this team to perform the following:

- Support the platform: incident resolution, monitoring, problem management, Batch monitoring, working on service requests
- Develop automated tooling to improve support functions.
- Adopt DevOps and Agile principles,
- Ensure test-driven development and close collaboration with QA team members,
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code,
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications


- ITIL concepts: Incident, change and Problem management
- Hands on Support functions preferable with bank domain
- Experience with Monitoring tool like Geneos, Splunk etc
- Familiar with Infrastructure management Unix, windows and Database
- Ticketing tool: GSD, Service Now etc
- Good knowledge of Database and SQL Queries
- Experience in an Agile and/or DevOps team
- Familiar with DevOps Tooling
- Excellent communication skills

Nice to have

- knowledge of Java8, Spring MVC, SpringBoot
- Designing and developing microservices
- Test driven development using JUnit
- Ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions,
- Able to provide innovative solutions to complex business problems.
- Spring Cloud (Hystrix, Eureka, Zuul, Sleuth, Feign, Ribbon),
- Experience of distributed applications using in-memory stores,
- Experience of designing hybrid web Application
- Automated deployment tools eg Ansible,
- Experience in TypeScript, Angular, HTML 5,
- Cloud knowledge (GCP/AWS/Azure)
- Experience with messaging protocols (MQ, Solace).
