Job description
The Social Media Manager (maternity cover) role is based within the First Direct Marketing team.
The role of the Social Media Manager (maternity cover) is to lead social media for first direct, with specific responsibility for delivering social business and marketing strategies. Manage a full range of social media channels, analysing and evaluating relative effectiveness, identifying and developing a presence on new platforms. Develop the social media strategy ensuring the strategy aligns to the broader brand, acquisition and engagement strategy. Work collaboratively across the business to define the customer service model to ensure a fully integrated and seamless social media experience. Create social media assets in line with brand strategy. Responsible for developing and implementing customer engagement activities to retain and engage customers, build brand loyalty and customer recommendations. Working across the business to ensure first direct’s brand and reputation are enhanced by social media activities. Developed reporting and metrics to capture trends and measure success of social media engagement and implement social media best practice and innovation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Lead innovation in social and digital for fd – helping us reach a younger target audience (25-35)
Manage and develop first direct’s social media channels and communities including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
Create digital content specifically for these channels to ensure high levels of measurable engagement and raise awareness of first direct
Working with the External Communications team to develop content from existing media activity, as well as providing support to develop new content as part of customer campaigns
Work with the Digital, Customer and Brand Marketing teams to support the creation and management of digital content on all of first direct’s social media and online channels as part first direct’s marketing activity.
Working with key stakeholders to manage and develop first direct’s overarching social media strategy.
To work with key stakeholders to provide them with management information from our listening tools to gain greater understanding of our social media users, along with creating reports.
Liaise and work with our Social Media Customer Contact team to support and provide advice around current and future use of social media to improve customer experience.
Desired profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Digital Marketing and Social Media
Role relevant qualifications, i.e. degree or equivalent
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Marketing Executive at least 5 years and at least 3 years in a Social Media role
Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. You Tube, Facebook, Twitter, managing a community
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Financial Services is desirable but not essential
Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. Radian 6 is desirable but not essential
A desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers
A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
A track record of making complex business decisions with authority, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential long term risks and implication
A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
