The Greater Bay Area (“GBA”) which spans 9 Guangdong cities, Hong Kong and Macau, is one of China’s most economically advanced and vibrant regions – an economic dynamo that is home to some of the country’s biggest and most innovative companies. GBA, along with Southeast Asia/ASEAN, is one of the key growth areas for HSBC as we pivot towards Asia. HSBC is the leading bank in Hong Kong and aims to play the same leadership role in GBA

 

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

 

In this role, you will:

      

1.     Lead the development and execution of partnership strategies that aligns with HSBC’s focus and priorities in GBA and mainland China-Hong Kong corridor, supporting customer acquisition, relationship deepening and revenue growth

2.     Conduct market research for opportunity assessment, analyze China market trends and competition strategies, particular in retail and SME sectors, with a structured consulting framework to identify the partnership and business opportunities

3.     Proactively develop connections and explore partnership opportunities, while managing pitches, negotiations and development of business cases and implementation plans

4.     Manage excellent relationship with external partners and internal stakeholders to jointly drive execution and delivery of business results

5.     Work closely with teams across different businesses, propositions, products, marketing, technology and risk stewards in HSBC China and HSBC Hong Kong to ensure excellent delivery against business focus and priorities

6.     Proactively communicate and embed the GBA growth strategy, coordinate and liaise with line of businesses and functions across GBA to ensure smooth implementation of partnership initiatives.

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

 

1.     Solid experience in the financial services or technology industry with strong understanding of banking industry, digital transformation, regulatory and economic environment both in mainland China and Hong Kong

2.     Strong business acumen, capable of assessing market and business dynamics and make sound judgement in presenting a well-reasoned business case and negotiating commercial deals

3.     Advanced planning and project management skills with a hands-on approach to drive improvement and resolve problems

4.     Proven record in strategy formulation on banking, or external partnership projects, or financial digital transformation, with strong understanding of consumer behaviors and needs on banking

5.     Experience and track record of successfully leading / involving a partnership deal is preferred

6.     Proven experience in deploying digital capability in uplifting customer experience

7.     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence effectively with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels

8.     Self-driven and results-oriented, with a clear focus on high-quality work and business results

9.     Fluent in English and Chinese, both verbal and written
