Role Title: Senior Software Engineer

Role Purpose / Description
Digital Business Automation (DigiBA) is an integral part of ITID - Data Centre & Operations (DC&O). DigiBA are responsible for Globally delivering scheduling requirements at the quality and pace warranted by the business whilst maintaining the integrity of the scheduling environments. Our aim is to provide the workload automation capabilities to facilitate DevOps and Agile practices both internally and externally, and administer the end-end governance and oversight for all scheduling products.
The job holder will be part of the Control-M Product Management team who have responsibility to ensure the stability, integrity and capability of the Control-M product suite in use across HSBC. This includes ensuring ongoing vendor support, upgrades and capability uplift to support the deliverables for all Global Businesses and functions within HSBC. Product Management also provide 3rd line support for the Control-M product suite and are expected to provide coverage and guidance for escalations from the production support team.

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
Required Skills / Experience
•Excellent verbal and written English skills
•Minimum 12 months experience of managing a Control-M environment (v7 or later) e.g. configuring the Control-M application
•Understanding of security patches and application and hardware upgrades
•Experience of agent installation and upgrades on Windows, Unix platforms
•Experience of troubleshooting Control-M application or infrastructure issues
•Experience of how security and access is managed and controlled
•Knowledge of Control-M product functionality e.g. utilities, variables, timezone files, calendars
•Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Beneficial Skills / Experience (NOT ESSENTIAL)
• Experience of using API functionality to allow users to interact with Control-M and enable Devops capabilities
•Experience of testing, evaluating, and deploying new Control-M functionality and / or fix packs released by the vendor
•Knowledge of CICD deployment tools e.g. HPSA, SCCM, Puppet, Ansible
•Knowledge of disaster recovery / resilience testing
•Experience of agent installation and upgrades on iSeries (As400)
• Experience of managing other BMC Control-M products e.g. Workload Change Manager, Batch Impact Manager, Managed File Transfer, Application Integrator
•General understanding of Unix server and / or Oracle database functionality and configuration
• Experience of Control-M v9 in the Cloud (Google, Amazon, Azure)
