Job description

The Senior Marketing Manager - Events & Sponsorship role is based within Global Marketing, CMB & GBM.
 
The role of the Senior Marketing Manager - Events & Sponsorship is to be accountable for ensuring that Events & Sponsorship plans and activities are fully aligned to the strategic business objectives and overseeing the delivery, implementation and evaluation of this marketing activity.
 
Your responsibilities will include:

Developing the Global CMB Marketing Events & Sponsorship strategy and plan, aligned to strategic business goals. Ownership of global event calendar required to meet strategic business objectives and expectations; communicate to key stakeholders.
Developing a framework for delivery of all Global events, 3rd party sponsorships and coordination of locally deployed activity to maximize team resources. Allocate resources appropriately to support the calendar. Support hands-on delivery of events where necessary to support the team.
Defining objectives, targets and measurement MI and evaluation of success criteria within planned activity
Creating and leading a “virtual” events delivery team across the global CMB/GBM marketing community, ensuring timely and appropriate engagement and communication of the wider strategy and plan to assist regional and local marketing/event teams in their planning and delivery.
Effective briefing and co-ordination of all planned communication surrounding events activities – specifically internal stakeholder communication, external communications where relevant (via Comms) internal engagement that supports or promotes the activities.
Day to day management of agreed agency partners in the development and delivery of Global CMB Marketing events and sponsorship activities and providing feedback on performance and monitoring of performance against agreed SLAs.

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Commitment to putting the customer at the heart of all development and implementation activities
Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Minimum 10 years’  events & sponsorship activation experience, ideally within a Financial Services or Professional Services based institution
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Proven strategic and planning experience in an events management role, together with proven agency operational management experience, ideally across a global organisation .
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. End-to-end experience of delivering events and sponsorship activities and activation across a global organisation. is desirable but not essential
Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Able to influence at an executive and senior level and lead across functional teams to drive improvement is desirable but not essential
Role relevant qualifications, i.e. Degree level of qualification in marketing and/or business studies  is desirable but not essential
A desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers
A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
Experience of supporting others' performance, enabling them to achieve by providing clear direction, motivation and support
Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
Contributed productively to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities to achieve shared goals
Experience of making prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes
Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
Proven experience of successful project management, utilising relevant tools and techniques to ensure consistent delivery
Experience of successful budget management and use of numerical data to assesses and report on performance and/or identify business issues and opportunities
A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements associated with financial services and experience of working within these
The base location for this role is 8 Canada Square, London.
