Job description

The Senior Digital Product UX & Design Manager role is based within Digital Centre of Excellence, Retail Banking and Wealth Management.
 
The role of the Senior Digital Product UX & Design Manager is to be accountable for leading and managing all User Centred Design and Visual Design activity to define’ best in class’ digital channel experiences e.g. Internet Banking, Tablet and Mobile for global Mobile (including future channels/devices), contributing to the delivery of Global Digital strategic goals.
 
Lead and coach the Design team across both pipeline and deployment activities, supporting convergence and reuse across the HSBC global network. Lead this activity for Digital initiatives and contribute to other multi
- channel priority programmes where there is a Digital workstream.

We are looking for a Senior UX & design manager that is foremost an excited and skilled learner; one that has some of the following traits: 
A distinct and refined visual design sense, with strong product instincts.
The agility to go from strategy to wireframe to mockup to code in a short course of time.
Interest in reimagining what a bank can look like, both from the inside and out.
A diverse background that you can reference for a fresh perspective on this problem set.

Your responsibilities will include:
Leading service/User Experience design activity to define ‘best in class’ sales and service channel experience (multi brand ethos to support replication) underpinned by customer insight and testing, for both pipeline and deployment.
Leading the production of the Digital UX Design and Visual Design artefacts as part of User Centred Design activity in line with committed timescales and methodology, securing Approval from stakeholders as required.
Ensuring digital deliverables meet business requirements and are fit for purpose to release to customers by leading the delivery production line (development, testing and implementation).
As part of the Digital senior leadership team, contributing the definition and delivery of the Centre of Excellence strategy.
Using own Subject Matter Expertise to champion, evangelise and educate the COE stakeholders on User Experience/Service Design best practice and creative innovations from the external marketplace to enhance and evolve the Digital Business.
Leading team in development of clickable prototypes and demos to illustrate early design concepts to business stakeholders and SwD Development teams.

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Deep understanding of real world customer attitudes, needs and expectations – specifically relating to interaction through PC, mobile, tablet and social media
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Leading UX and Design practice
Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. Axure, Maquetta,
Skilled in the use of prototyping tools, flash and rich media
Proven experience of leading the delivery of an excellent customer service and proactively look for innovative ways to improve the service delivered to customers 
A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
Proven experience of leading others and creating an environment that supports and inspires people to develop and deliver
Dealt effectively with highly complex commercial information and business challenges to create strategic business plans which effectively deliver results
Good relationship management skills to satisfy a wider range of internal and external customers with conflicting priorities. 
The base location for this role is London, Park Street
