Job description

The Senior Cash Management Consultant role is based within Payments and Cash Management.
 
The role of the Senior Cash Management Consultant is to achieve income for the Group by originating leads, building and maintaining strategic relationships with new and existing clients in order to identify and sell innovative cash and clearing management solutions to the Mid-Market sector of HSBC's CMB clients.
 
Responsibility for pricing, reviewing and negotiating the full range of Cash Management services for the Mid-Market CMB Sector, together with affecting any cost reduction initiatives required by the HSBC Group. The jobholder is ultimately responsible for new sales revenue and the retention and growth of existing clients and income aligned to a portfolio within the Sector.
 
Act as key deal maker for the Region, supporting the wider Regional team in delivering complex solutions for our clients. Provide coaching and training to less experienced members of the team, demonstrating role model behaviour at all times.
 
Lead client focused activities that consistently improve customer experience, advocacy, retention and increase share of wallet.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
 
Impact on the Business
To manage a client portfolio in order to maintain existing, and generate new income for HSBC.
To manage costs within plan and keep losses to a minimum.
Sector planning and client monitoring/contact as part of the CMB client planning process.
To maintain close liaison with key stakeholders so as to provide input to the strategic direction of the business, the functionality and launch of new products and services.
Customers / Stakeholders
To broaden and deepen client relationships.
Working with key stakeholders including, but not limited to CMB, Product Development, Client Implementation and Client Management to ensure a positive client experience.
To retain and grow existing customer portfolios to maintain and increase income to HSBC.
Leadership & Teamwork
To motivate colleagues within the Sales Team.
To manage performance.
To keep Management informed of progress / major obstacles towards progress on Sales targets.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Ensure all requests for ops losses/refunds, travel, out of plan expenditure; hospitality events etc. are appropriate and correctly authorized.
To continually reassess the Sales process through to implementation and work closely with other stakeholders to identify efficiencies.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Role relevant qualifications, i.e. Association of Corporate Treasurers Cert. C.M. qualification (E) and or ACIB (E)

Management experience (D)

Euro Clearing Services (E)
Global Cash Management (E)
International Banking Knowledge (D)
Treasury Foreign Exchange Knowledge (D)
Broad based knowledge of HSBC Group companies and product ranges (E)
Proven Sales Record (E)
Corporate Banking experience (D)
Relationship Management experience (D)
A track record of gaining an understanding of customers' needs and delivering excellent customer service
Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
Experience of supporting others' performance, enabling them to achieve by providing clear direction, motivation and support
Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
Contributed productively to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities to achieve shared goals
Planned projects and activities systematically in line with business priorities, using a variety of analysis and problem solving techniques
Used their business knowledge and understanding of customer needs to successfully manage and grow customer relationships
A track record of effectively handling complex sales, to meet the needs of demanding customers, in a fair and ethical way
The base location for this role is Birmingham.
