The role of the Scrum Master / Agile Coach is based within HSBC Operations, Services & Technology

Our Scrum Master / Agile Coaches are champions for innovation and quality who're embedded in our cross functional agile teams. You will be working alongside Full Stack Engineers, Test Automation Engineers, and Product Owners with the objective of ensuring every deployment and feature is smooth, bug free and shippable.

Using an Agile development approach to fit large, complex projects, you will be an expert in lean/agile methodologies. Highly experienced in software delivery you will be responsible for planning, leading, organising, and motivating your cross-functional team to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering products that provide exceptional business value.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Demonstrable expertise in the application of a broad range of Agile and Lean methodologies in all aspects of design, product and software delivery for mobile and web applications
· Drive quality and efficient delivery of software utilising Agile methodologies and automated testing frameworks
· Organise and facilitate sprint and release planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, demos and other Agile/Scrum related ceremonies
· Ensure the development teams practice the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritisation, team accountability, and visibility
· Facilitate the transformation of high-level business requirements into detailed and succinct backlogs, stories and functional products
· Collaborate with architects to ensure solutions adhere to their principles and direction
· Drive, track and communicate the progress of sprints and releases through team velocity, burn down charts, successful builds and deployments and other metrics
· Adapt plans, schedules, and resource assignments as required throughout software development sprints and releases to respond to emerging requirements and risks
· Lead, mentor, up-skill and inspire other team members, peers and stakeholders

Desired profile

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications:

·  Agile certification such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) qualified
·  Strong practical experience and understanding of Scrum and Kanban, XP, Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), ATDD and Test-driven development (TDD)
·  Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
·  A flexible and adaptable management style with experience of developing yourself and others
·  Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
·  A successful track record of delivering complex projects and/or programmes, utilising appropriate techniques and tools to ensure and measure success

In addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate will have:
·  Experience delivering through the use of the latest User Interface (UI)/Mobile technologies, processes and tools to deliver frequently, safely and efficiently
·  Professional experience with tools such as Confluence, Jira, Jenkins, Rally, RTC, Git, GitHub and Stash
·  Strong abilities in coordinating complex project schedules, resolving competing dependencies, and fostering collaboration among globally distributed teams
·  Demonstrable ability to self-manage, be proactive, take ownership, build relationships and drive solutions through from inception to production
·  You must be a strong team player with the ability to influence, lead and collaborate with multiple interfaces, such as offshore teams, IT areas, stakeholders within the business and collocated teams

The base location of this role will be Stourton, Leeds (First Direct office).
