Financial Crime Risk aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into a more integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively. It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action. It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Sanctions Adjudicator
In this role, you will:
Be responsible for the completion of Sanctions investigation activities within the Regional Sanctions Alert Adjudications team.
The role holder will investigate Level 3 Sanctions alerts for Customer, Transactions or Trade activity. Their role is to determine whether the alert is a True Match or a False Positive by following the Global Standards and ensuring accurate recording of outcomes whilst adhering to all SLA's.
Additionally the role holders will be required to produce ongoing Operational and Strategic MI.

Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
· Ability to converse, read and write in French is essential
· Risk professional with experience in one or more risk compliance roles, to include Sanctions experience
· Knowledge of SWIFT messages (preferred but non-mandatory)
· Experience within the financial services industry
· Lateral thinker with an ability to interpret and solve complex issues
· Excellent communicator with strong inter-personal and influencing skills
The base location for this role is Edinburgh
