Role Purpose: 
Senior Risk Manager, UAE is responsible for the development, implementation, enhancement, management, monitoring and/or reporting of the enterprise-wide UAE risk governance framework and risk stewardship capability, including the UAE’s regulatory risk stewardship capability. The job holder reports to the UAE CRO and works closely with the UAE Risk team and the Regional Risk & Compliance teams, as well as the UAE businesses and functions.

Duties & Responsibilities:
•    Lead and oversee risk areas where Primary Risk Stewardship responsibilities sit with the UAE Risk team.
•    Oversee areas where UAE Risk has Secondary Risk Stewardship responsibilities, ensuring the overall UAE risk stewardship framework remains effective, with due risk reporting and escalations as needed.
•    Support the UAE CRO in ensuring that Policies are updated and refreshed as required according to new Regulations and Group policies.
•    Oversee, own, steward and/or support Risk based Local Regulatory Reporting. 
•    Formulate, operationalize, review, support and/or deliver UAE CRO responsibilities and Credit Risk Management Function responsibilities as detailed in the UAE CB Credit Risk Management Standards.
•    Formulate, operationalize, review and support the continued embedding of the UAE Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Controls environment, across Financial Risks and Non-Financial Risks.
•    Support the UAE CRO with the management of relationships with external stakeholders (e.g. auditors, local regulators, rating agencies).
•    Coordinate and prepare papers for submission to various governance forums (e.g. UAE RMM, UAE EXCO, MENAT RMM, Entity Board, etc).
•    Support the development and deployment of enterprise-wide risk policies as needed.
•    Oversee External Regulatory Audits and Internal Audits. 
•    Ensure robust oversight and timely decision-making, particularly for high risk, time-critical or sensitive issues.
•    Ensure the Group is safeguarded against potential reputational, regulatory, or legal damage through the timely and appropriate escalation of risk issues.
•    Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which one is involved, specifically Internal Controls, Policies and Compliance.

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications:
•    Graduation degree is REQUIRED– to secure a Work Permit.
•    Senior management exposure and governance experience.
•    Excellent articulation and presentation ability, especially of complex subjects and implications to audiences with varying degrees of familiarity.
•    Proven ability to operate across functions by building networks and leading and influencing teams that may not be directly managed. 
•    A comprehensive understanding of risk management and the regulatory.
•    Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
•    Understand and interpret complex business requirements and prioritize competing demands.
•    Ability to work and thrive in a fast changing, results driven environment and to remain effective under pressure with exceptional drive and commitment.
•    Ability to highlight problems but more importantly offer solutions, and drive through their execution in a collective environment with strong project management skills.
•    Strong analytical skills to grasp, interpret and distil diverse and complex sources of information.
