The Retirement Consultant role is based within Retail Banking and Wealth Management – Retirement Advice Centre of Excellence.
The role of the Retirement Consultant is to provide formal financial planning advice to customers, with emphasis on retirement goals. The advice will be given through written reports, for presentation to customers, which must be technically accurate, compliant, customer- focused, professional looking and in line with FCA principles. Advice reports generated by the Centre are presented to the customer by Regional Specialists or by selected and franchised Premier Relationship Managers (PRMs) or Premier Client Managers (PCMs) and provide the formal advice record.
Your responsibilities will include:
· providing formal financial planning advice to customers, with emphasis on retirement goals
· providing advice through written reports, for presentation to customers, which must be technically accurate, compliant, customer- focused, professional looking and in line with FCA principles.
· will not involve face-to-face customer contact but the job holder may need to contact customers by telephone and e-mail to obtain additional information or to confirm understanding of the customer's needs and objectives
· being expected to share best practice and provide guidance to other individuals within the Centre to aid their development and competency and deputising for the Retirement Advice Manager where appropriate
· being expected to provide technical assistance to other departments and individuals within Retail Banking and Wealth Management, as required.
Desired profile
Qualifications :
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
· Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of pensions, investments, inheritance tax,
· Role relevant qualifications, i.e. G60 or AF3, QCF Level 4 Diploma
· Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. 3 years in a similar environment is desirable but not essential
· A desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers
· A flexible and adaptable approach to change and will support others to respond in a similar way
· Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
· Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
· Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
· A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
· Used their business knowledge and understanding of customer needs to successfully manage and grow customer relationships
