Retirement Advice Consultant
 
The Retirement Advice Consultant role is based within Retail Banking and Wealth Management – Retirement Advice Centre of Excellence.
 
The Retirement Advice Centre of Excellence (RACoE) was recently created to launch the HSBC specialist retirement proposition. RACoE will provide advice, technical support and guidance on pensions in a number of specialist areas. The Retirement Advice Consultant is pivotal in providing pension transfer and at/in retirement advice to HSBC customers, in need of this complex and specialist area of financial planning, in a regulated manner.
This is achieved by writing financial planning reports, providing advice in line with policy and procedures, which are then presented to the customer by Regional Retirement Specialists or specialist retirement franchised Premier Relationship or Premier Client Managers.
This is an office based adviser  role, as such you will be required to be regulated by the FCA   
Your responsibilities will include:
providing high-quality compliant financial planning advice to customers, through written reports in-line with the FCA principles
will include contacting customers by telephone and email , but will not involve face-to-face contact with customers
sharing best practice and provide guidance to other individuals within the Centre, and collaborating within the department
To provide technical assistance to other departments and individuals within Retail Banking and Wealth Management, as required.

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of pensions, investments and legacy planning
Role relevant qualifications
- Level 4 Diploma required. Requirement to study towards and pass AF3 qualification within 18 months (if not already holding G60 or AF3)  
Ideally, at least 3 years practical experience in a relevant financial services environment
A desire to continually improve the service delivered to customers
A team-player with a flexible and adaptable approach
Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate complex information in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
Use their knowledge and understanding of customer needs to manage and grow effective relationships
The base location for this role can either be Whiteley, Hampshire or Birmingham.
