The Relationship Manager
- NBFI Business Banking role is based within Business Banking.
 
The role of the Relationship Manager
- NBFI Business Banking is to acquire, retain and expand relationships with customers we want to bank within the NBFI sector in Business Banking profitably, by identifying customer needs first and then recommending appropriate solutions for the customer to consider and accept. The Business Banking Relationship Manager NBFI will deal with portfolios of up to 6.5M GBP
 
Your responsibilities will include:
Act as Relationship Manager by offering value-added advice and guidance to customers and placing their needs at the forefront of all that we do, setting world class standards
Maintain sustainable revenues from existing* customer portfolio
Keep abreast of external factors influencing international and domestic business e.g. economic, cultural, geographical, procedural and regulatory requirements.
Increase profitability, relationship depth while minimizing risk.
Build a network of business introducers in the local professional and business community
Put customers first in all that we do and develop/increase connectivity
Own customer engagement; ensure service excellence at all times, for all aspects of any customer, prospect or professional’s interaction with HSBC.
Optimise the potential value and profitability of existing relationships by assisting in the delivery of solutions, products and services appropriate to meet customer need and to improve customer engagement.
Be an ambassador for HSBC and develop the bank’s profile in the local business community.
Work in partnership with colleagues across the HSBC network to deliver exceptional standards and quality of service.
Lead, inspire and motivate junior colleagues to ensure a seamless relationship management service is delivered all customers and proactively share knowledge, experiences and best practices with junior Relationship Managers.
Complete, timely, and in-depth evaluations or reviews of financial and operating risks for all credit facilities, in order to ensure usage is in accordance with approved terms and conditions.
Ensure operational losses and fraud are minimised

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. commercial/business banking relationship
A full, valid driver's license
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Business Banking products and services is desirable but not essential
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. business acumen and commercial awareness including economic, cultural, procedural and regulatory issues  is desirable but not essential
A desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers
Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same 
Experience of making prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes
Experience of effectively using your knowledge of credit products, processes and risks to make fair and informed lending decisions that meet customers' needs
A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
A track record of effectively handling complex sales, to meet the needs of demanding customers, in a fair and ethical way

A track record of effectively handling complex sales, to meet the needs of demanding customers, in a fair and ethical way
The base location for this role is 12 Calthorpe Road Birmingham
