We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of
Regional Quality Assurance (QA) Sanctions Analyst
This position is an analyst position completing Quality Assurance (QA) activities over the Regional Centre of Excellence for Sanctions Alert Adjudication (CoE). The role holder through carrying out their duties are responsible for the first line of defense oversight of Sanctions risk within the Regional CoE. The role holder will:
· Conduct effective Test of Design investigation.
· Select samples in line with appropriate model e.g., Monthly sample; SQAR.
· Conduct review of each case, ensuring decisions are aligned to QA procedures and QA commentary for decision clearly describes the rationale to support the QA decision
The role holder contributes to compliance with HSBC Policy and external Sanctions regulations applicable to the Region through:
· Effective completion of Quality Assurance on all cases that are subject to QA.
· Following all agreed processes and procedures; ensuring that all alerts that do not meet agreed standards are identified; with appropriate classification of errors and are escalated when appropriate.
· Fulfilling required regional level Sanctions subject matter expertise and assessment. • Proactively identify and escalate Sanctions risks within region.
Requirements
· Risk professional with experience in one or more risk compliance roles, to include Sanctions experience.
· Experience of conducting QA activities in a financial services or risk environment.
· Knowledge of Sanctions regulations and how they apply to Sanctions screening and adjudication.
· Knowledge of the HSBC Group structure, its business and personnel, and an understanding of HSBC’s corporate culture.
· Lateral thinker with an ability to identify root cause and develop practical, efficient, cost-effective solutions to solve complex issues.
· Ability to adapt to change and provide input where necessary.
· Excellent communicator with strong inter-personal and influencing skills.
· High level of English language skills.
· Support and act as an SME for the implementation of globally led Sanctions change initiatives within the Region and more specifically within the CoE. Fulfilling required regional level Policy management activities:
· Maintain QA procedures and guidance so they remain up to date and accurate.
· Ensure all investigations are compliant with HSBC records retention policy.
· Ensure that all work is completed within agreed SLAs, with appropriate escalation and mitigating actions for items not meeting SLAs.
· Support the Regional QA Manager in liaising with internal audit and legal teams to identify themes and trends.
· Where required support in-country QA colleagues whose alerts have not migrated to the CoE.
