The RBWM Transformation Project
- Business Transformation Workstream Lead role is based within the first direct Business Transformation and Strategy Delivery Team.
 
The role of the Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM) Transformation Project
- Business Transformation Workstream Lead is to lead strategic workstreams of significant scale and complexity ensuring that the initiatives within these workstreams deliver the first direct business objectives. These include driving business growth, increasing customer acquisition, increasing revenue, delivering sustainable cost savings and enhancing customer experience. The role holder will be responsible for delivering all definition, design and delivery phases.
This is a key role to define, shape and deliver the first direct Business Transformation programme.
 
An integral part of the role will be successful engagement with key stakeholders and sponsors within first direct, UK and Group. The role demands strong relationship building, influencing, negotiation, planning and organisational skills. A motivational and inspiring team manager and team player is critical to the challenges and demands that this Programme will present.
Key responsibilities include: alignment of investment to strategy; internal and external stakeholder management; planning; shape ideas; delivery of strategy initiatives on time, on budget & within scope; risk and issues management; business readiness and benefits realisation.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
Leadership, management and ownership of (2 or more) workstreams of significant scale with ambitious goals and frequent changing requirements and priorities
Leading, managing and working with multiple internal and external delivery and business partner teams
A detailed knowledge of first direct & RBWM Business Transformation Programmes and wider change agendas to effectively lead the Strategy Delivery Team on behalf of the Head of Strategy and Business Transformation
Securing the required investment and resources to deliver the strategic initiatives and prioritising spend and investment
Defining the optimum workstream delivery approach for complex requirements and unique projects – often one-off initiative
Project Delivery against a back-drop of a heavily regulated environment, legacy system risk and constraints and phased delivery of a Technology Roadmap converging on UK and Group systems

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Delivery of large scale complex programmes at pace, developing high performing interchanging teams to support delivery at each stage 
Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Very strong knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, competitors etc.
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Proven implementation, change management and benefits realisation experience
Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. Regular travel to First Direct locations and UK sites will be required, therefore you should be flexible to travel options.
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Outstanding knowledge of first direct – functionally, operationally and financially is desirable but not essential
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Strong people and team management experience is desirable but not essential
A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
A flexible and adaptable management style with experience of developing yourself and others
Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
A track record of making strategic business decisions, considering relevant risks, long term implications, commercial realities and stakeholders'' needs
Dealt effectively with highly complex commercial information and business challenges to create strategic business plans which effectively deliver results
A successful track record of leading significant and complex business programmes, overcoming challenges to consistently meet/exceed objectives
 
The base location for this role is Leeds, Stourton
