Qlikview/Consultant Specialist/IT Architecture

Job description

The purpose of this role is to be a lead developer in the Operational Data team, developing and/or supporting the Qlik dashboards produced with data from the application.

· Act as a Qlik Developer working as part of the operational data engineering team.
· Lead the design of new Qlik application working with members of the wider delivery and architecture teams.
· Responsible for the build of all new Qlik applications.
· Assisting with maintenance and support of existing Qlik applications; including management of refreshes, access, queries, fixes and enhancements.
· Working with Qlik server / hosting teams in order to manage deployments of Qlik applications and other hosting activities (although not responsible for the Qlik Server environment itself, assistance with supporting upgrades and releases may be required).
· Research into and keeping track o product upgrades, new features etc in order to provide design and product recommendations.

· Experience of working with vendor tools is desirable but not essential, particularly Planview (formerly known as Troux).
· Experience of UNIX (Linux) operating systems is desirable.
· Knowledge of Qlik Sense an advantage.

· Experience of working in a Qlik development role for a minimum of 3 years.
· Excellent knowledge of SQL required and experience with Oracle databases preferred.
· Proven history of quick adoption and openness to learning new skills and concepts.
· Experience and ability to remain calm and productive when working in fast changing, demanding development environment when often faced with multiple deliverables.
· Highly motivated individual, who is committed to making a positive impact
· Proven history of being a self-starter and being able to work independently but also able to contribute effectively within a team.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Willingness and ability to communicate appropriately with different audiences.
· Experience of agile and DevOps working methodologies desirable but not essential
