QA & Sanctions Analyst for GSC – United States
(Based in México)
This position is an analyst position completing Quality Assurance (QA) activities over the Regional Centre of Excellence for Sanctions Alert Adjudication (CoE). The role holder through carrying out their duties are responsible for the first line of defence oversight of Sanctions risk within the Regional CoE.
The role holder will:
· Conduct effective Test of Design investigation
· Select samples in line with appropriate model e.g. Monthly sample; SQAR
· Conduct review of each case, ensuring decisions are aligned to QA procedures and QA commentary for decision clearly describes the rationale to support the QA decision
· Work to ensure individual (your) QA outcomes are aligned across the COE QA team
· Escalate critical errors through appropriate channels
· Conduct effective analysis of sampling outcomes and ensure that the key trends in terms of individual staff, themes and issues are identified
· Write reports that are reflective of the key issues and provide sufficient detail to communicate the context of the issue and support understanding of the issue.
· Agree and document the QA recommendations effectively
· Track QA issues and escalate when appropriate
· Throughout the above activities consider outstanding Audit findings and Issues identified by QA previously to look for opportunities to obtain evidence to close down those issues
· Ensure that all communications and interactions with stakeholders foster positive, professional working relationships and support, develop and enhance both QA and the COE’s relationship and reputation
Desired profile
Qualifications :
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
· Experience of conducting QA activities in a financial services or risk environment.
· Risk professional with experience in one or more risk compliance roles, to include Sanctions experience.
· Knowledge of Sanctions regulations and how they apply to Sanctions screening and adjudication
· Knowledge of the HSBC Group structure, its business and personnel, and an understanding of HSBC’s corporate culture.
· Lateral thinker with an ability to identify root cause and develop practical, efficient, cost effective solutions to solve complex issues.
· Ability to adapt to change and provide input where necessary.
· Excellent communicator with strong inter-personal and influencing skills.
· High level of English language skills.
