Proposition Development Manager

Job description

The Proposition Development Manager role is based within the Customer Value Management Team within HSBC's Expat division.
 
The Proposition Team within Customer Value Management has the responsibility for understanding the needs of customers, defining propositions, effecting change to business models and ensuring delivery of Group Strategy whilst acting as the Business Lead in key initiatives assigned to Propositional Development.
 
The Proposition Development Manager will have a level of autonomy and control to really make a difference to the customer journey.  The role is working in the Customer Valuation Management Team but also offers wider exposure with other teams across the business and third parties including audit, sales, finance and much more. The is a core project and focus for the bank and is the most important in terms of growth agenda for Wealth and Expat. 
 
 
Your responsibilities will include:
Support implementation and product lifecycle using organizational and programme management skills.
Development and ownership of the Customer Journey aligned to Group Target Operating Models where available.
Lead and provide Subject Matter Expertise in the strategic implementation of products, services and platforms; acting as the Business Lead and coordinating business activity where required.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with other areas within the business, ensuring full stakeholder endorsement of any proposals.
Ensure all governance requirements, policies and procedures are adhered to, seeking necessary approvals where required.
Development and ownership of ongoing communication plans relating to any strategic change.

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Retail Banking
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Product role
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Mortgages, FX, Banking is desirable but not essential
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Project delivery is desirable but not essential
Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Marketing, Sales, product knowledge is desirable but not essential
Role relevant qualifications, i.e. Ideally educated to Degree Level is desirable but not essential
A desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers
Experience of supporting others' performance, enabling them to achieve by providing clear direction, motivation and support
Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
Experience of making prompt and practical business decisions, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes
Planned projects and activities systematically in line with business priorities, using a variety of analysis and problem solving techniques
A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
In addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate will have excellent prioritisation and organisation skills and the ability to manage numerous objectives and workstream plans.  They will possess strong commercial acumen, be a self-starter who is comfortable working with concepts and ambiguity.  The succesful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) and influence at all levels of the organisation and with external clients.
 
The base location for this role is Jersey.
