The Project Manager role is based within Payments Services
The role of the Project Manager is to deliver major global critical Tier 0 service. Be the key player in the timely delivery of IT projects that meet business needs. Ultimate responsibility for all project decisions and understand both the business objectives and the development team contribution for their assigned projects
Your responsibilities will include:
Creating and maintaining appropriate project plans and keep all parties involved in the project informed of progress and issues.
Concurrent management of multiple activities across multiple teams in multiple locations and time zones.
Understanding and belief in end-to-end responsibility / accountability across development life cycle & manage and control risk and provide appropriate contingencies.
Continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
Understanding of financial planning and recharge process for projects of a significant scale & strong understanding of stakeholder management, along with proven evidence of success.
Ability to work with and communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff within business and IT.
Desired profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. IT Project/Portfolio/Programme Management
Experience of working in the following market, i.e. undertaking PM role in a matrix structure without direct line influence
Experience of working in the relevant role, i.e. IT management in a development or operations environment.
Experience of working with the following systems, i.e. strong practical experience in Clarity and Workbench is desirable not essential.
Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. Some travel may be required
Proven experience of leading the delivery of an excellent customer service and proactively look for innovative ways to improve the service delivered to customers
A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
Contributed productively to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities to achieve shared goals
A track record of making complex business decisions with authority, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential long term risks and implications
Planned projects and activities systematically in line with business priorities, using a variety of analysis and problem solving techniques
In addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate will demonstrate ability to work and prioritise in a high pressure environment during service impacting incidents
The base location for this role is Griffin House, Sheffield.
