Job description

The Programme Manager - Digital Delivery Lead role is based within Global Software Delivery CMB.
 
The role of the Programme Manager - Digital Delivery Lead is to deliver large scale digital programme for a commercial banking e-Channel, on time and budget and with commercial integrity. Aware of current trends in digital delivery, including trending technologies, evolving tooling and best practice.
 
This is a senior level Programme Manager role with exposure to IT strategic development.This role will support HSBC Net Payments systems. The technologies that the role holder Front end User interfaces, HSBC Net payments systems, Digital Development, Dojo, Understanding HTML architecture. This role will have an exposure to senior management/stakeholders and could lead to a portfolio management or Senior IT management role. There will be some international travel, about 15% visiting centres of excellence in Europe, Poland, India, Vancouver, Hong Kong.
 
 
Your responsibilities will include:


Defining and managing digital delivery to meet current requirements and strategic direction of businesses and the Group.

Leading global joint development project efforts, ensuring effective use of resources

Building and maintaining effective business relationships across the global businesses and regional teams, understanding key drivers and metrics, and effectively prioritizing competing demands from a number of lines of business (Payments & Cash Management, Global Banking & Markets, Security Services, Trade Services etc) to meet strategic platform needs

Managing supplier engagements and providing IT consultancy for the long term benefit of the Group

Keeping informed on technical and professional developments affecting area of digital delivery and advise department and division management on new developments

Maintaining a thorough knowledge of businesses supported; providing guidance in the use of technology to meet short and long term requirements
 

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:


Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Digital/understanding front end UI requirements

Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Web/Mobile channels

Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Banking

Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. IT Programme manager

Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. Periodic travel to global development sites and business headquarters

Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of JIRA/RTC/VersionOne is desirable but not essential

Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Agile project management is desirable but not essential

Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Commercial banking / Payments Cash Management is desirable but not essential

Role relevant qualifications, i.e.Prince2 or PMP is desirable but not essential

Proven experience of leading the delivery of an excellent customer service and proactively look for innovative ways to improve the service delivered to customers 

A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways

Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field

A flexible and adaptable management style with experience of developing yourself and others

Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is a articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences

Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same 

A track record of making strategic business decisions, considering relevant risks, long term implications, commercial realities and stakeholders' needs

A successful track record of delivering complex projects and/or programmes, utilising appropriate techniques and tools to ensure and measure success
 
The base location for this role is London.
