We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Programme Director
Business: Regional CIO - ASP
Principal responsibilities
The Programme Director is responsible for leading and managing Abacus Programme with the business and through strategic delivery partners. This is a crucial and exciting opportunity to manage a large scale compex programme.
The role will carry out some or all of the following tasks:
• Programme governance that is in accordance with HSBC Change Framework, including standards, policies, and procedures.
• Obtain buy-ins from and influence stakeholders for all key programme plans, commitments, changes including requirements, quality assurance plans, budget, schedule, scope, risk mitigation and contingency plans
• Monitor and report on progress to stakeholders, oversee the tracking of risks/issues/dependencies
• Assess the impact on the benefit realisation for the programme and takes action to optimise impact
• Review performance against programme objectives and take remedial actions where required
• Ensure all agreed costs, quality and delivery commitments to stakeholders are met
• Promote adherence to project/programme governance model and use defined standards and tools for processes such as risk logs, change control and resource requests
• Programme planning, tracking, and progress updates.
• Ensure global programmes have sufficient resource allocation
• Collaboration across business and Technology, both within region and globally, with a culture of ‘One Team’
• Values diverse cultures and contributions, drives high standards of delivery in others
• Strong leadership of teams and projects through effective communication, collaboration, and planning / management
• Driving the adoption of HSBC standards and working in alignment with HSBC methodology at all times
• Escalation and management of programme risks and issues.
Requirements
• The ideal candidate will have background in financial services, with a proven track record of leadership, shaping / delivering innovative solutions, and driving change and excellence in challenging environments. The ideal candidate should also be able to promote a culture of ‘challenge’, continuous learning, and collaboration.
• Visionary with a proactive and innovative mindset
• Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive transformation plans
• Results-oriented with a strong focus on achieving measurable outcomes
• Ability to work under tight deadlines with multiple, important priorities
• Commercial awareness to ensure balance between business needs and effectiveness of Governance and frameworks
• Ability to effectively influence key stakeholders and establish credibility with senior management through constructive challenging and substantiating views with solid evidence / rationale
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to work effectively across geographies and matrix reporting lines
• Strong background in large scale transformation / change programmes within financial services
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality output with buy-in from key stakeholders
• Experience working with globally dispersed teams and stakeholders
• Additional qualifications in Organisational Development, Business/ Digital Transformation, Project Management or Change Management would be an advantage
