Role Purpose
· To assist in providing comprehensive portfolio analysis and interpretation on core products across global investment strategies (with focus in Fixed Income strategies). The role will focus on maintaining and then expanding the in-depth analytical and governance reporting suite produced by GPAD to support the Global CIO, Equity, Fixed Income and Multi-Assets investment teams. The role will involve the generation of investment strategy reports, assessment of risk sensitivities, written commentary as well as expanding the coverage to new parts of the business. The candidate will also need to master the analytical toolsets (BBG AIM, HSBC Analytics etc) available to fund managers and be able to advise PMs on the nuances of the systems.
Key Accountabilities
Impact on Business
· Participate in the assessment of existing investment strategies and new products.
· Maintain and provide thorough understanding of investment risk models, the drivers of market risk and the implications on product performance and attribution.
· Assist in producing analysis on investments, using qualitative and quantitative tools.
· Provide support for the front office analytical tool set, primarily HSBC Analytics (in house Analytical tool).
Customers / Stakeholders
· Ensure proliferation of investment analytics to the front office and senior management.
· Liaise with regional offices via the governance reporting outputs to ensure successful implementation of the global investment themes and principles to ensure the front office remains symbiotic and well integrated.
Leadership & Teamwork
· Provide support to members of the global Investment team.
· Support global investment projects
Operational Effectiveness & Control
· Support the head of the team to develop and maintain an analytics and risk framework for the team
· Assist in the oversight of the global investment platform
Role Context
· Provide comprehensive portfolio and market analysis, as well as portfolio analytics tools to the global CIO office and the front office function for all investment strategies managed globally by HSBC AMG. The role is based in London working within the Global Portfolio Analytics and Design team. The role will produce analytical and investment support services to global CIO's, senior managers and investment professionals.
Major Challenges
· Contribute to the technical development, design and use of the Global Analytics team systems, products and analysis. Provide support on implementation of the team's business strategy and continuing projects

· Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

Desired profile
Qualifications :
· A good understanding of risk sensitivities, modern portfolio theory and security analysis. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Good Understanding of the techniques in portfolio management and understanding of financial markets. Good academic records, preferably within finance or economics with CFA or equivalent an advantage. Knowledge of programming within VBA and/or Matlab, R, Python. Positive and proactive attitude with flexibility to accommodate changing environment and willingness to take on new responsibilities. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
