About Host Operations

Host Operations is responsible for:

·
Managing the day-to-day transactions of our Retail Banking and Wealth Management business

·
Running operations for our Commercial Banking business and supporting our Global Banking and Markets businesses to serve customers across their global networks

·
Simplifying the way we run HSBC, introducing automation to reduce workload and costs and improve the experience of customers

·
Helping to drive change for the bank's global businesses and functions, for the benefit of HSBC and our customers

Key Objectives for Operations Specialist II:

Principle Accountabilities:

·
This position supports various functions, within Wealth Operations, in the processing and/or audit of some of the Bank's investment products, including, but not limited to Mutual Funds, and RRSPs. Candidate would work along existing Wealth Operations team to support processing of transactions for Bank and Mutual funds supporting all branches across Canada.

·
Complete complex processing, operational, servicing and/or accounting-related duties in support of the assigned area. Resolve issues, as required, and refer those of a more complex nature to higher levels.

·
Reconcile and balance accounts, verify accuracy of computation and resolve discrepancies.

·
Ensure all activities comply with pertinent internal standards and external regulations.

·
Operate various office and/or mechanical equipment including personal computer, copiers, etc… as required, to complete duties in a timely and accurate manner.

·
Maintain appropriate records of activities and statistics; prepare daily worksheets and reports as necessary.

·
Apply compliance; internal and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and/or regulatory standards and policies; report issues and operational loss events. Abide by Human Resources and other HSBC policies in support of our ethical and respectful work environment.

·
Complete other duties as assigned.

·

Qualifications :

Knowledge & experience / Qualifications:

Accountabilities:

· 
Ensure Business Partner operational integrity is maintained and monitored.

· 
Ensure standards of performance and service delivered continues to meet HSBC and customer requirements in line with the Best Place to Bank strategy.

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

· 
2-3 years' experience working in FI on Mutual funs and registered planned products

· 
Experience in reconciliation of cash accounts, position reconciliation

· 
Knowledge of excel or other tools used for accounting and reconciliation will be a plus

· 
Must have R-Broker (RPM) knowledge

· 
2.5 years of fund industry experience and/or previous experience within a financial institution

· 
Familiarity with the Rules, Policies and By-Laws of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (MFDA) and Securities Regulators

· 
Canadian Securities Course or IFIC would be an asset

· 
Product knowledge of Mutual Fund settlements processing, PAC/SWP/Sweep setup and maintenance, Internal & External Transfers, Cash and Reinvested dividend processing, Non-Financial updates

· 
Excellent MS Excel skills
