The main function of this role will be to provide the Chief Operating Office (COO) and the Digital Business Services (DBS) leadership team with support as directed by the Chief Administration Office (CAO). This includes liaison with and direction of Senior and Executive Management across HSBC and the creation of information for use at Executive Management Forums.
The role holder will be required to interact with many internal and external parties and therefore needs an outstanding level of professionalism and gravitas. DBS Operational Management is the primary support function for the COO & DBS Leadership, providing them with information & analysis on the execution against the strategy and goals including research, operational planning, communication and reporting. The role will also provide effective administrative support particularly in relation to people development and training and ad-hoc requests that come from the COO/Chief Risk Administration Office (CRAO).
As an internal provider of services to HBAU DBS works across all Global Businesses and Global Functions and is an integral part of facilitating the Global Businesses and Global Functions to deliver to their stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
· Governance & Documentation – ensuring appropriate governance is developed and implemented with robust documentation and supporting management across COO regulatory responsibilities within DBS including but not limited to the DBS Steering Committee, Executive Committee, HBAU Board Meeting submissions
· Delivery and performance – provide the COO and DBS leadership with information & analysis on the execution against the strategy and goals and competitive review and positioning
· Strategy Execution – supporting the research and analysis to enable the delivery and implementations of DBS Priorities
· Change Execution – managing change, either internally or externally driven, on a continuous improvement basis
· Regulatory Compliance – Support COO office in the execution of regulatory compliance obligations as required
· People Development Program – consulting and execution covering identification, review, analysis, recommendations and delivery of People Development and Training opportunities (including STA s and job tastings) to result in an overall improvement in job satisfaction and intention to remain with HSBC
· Support – provide the COO and DDBS leadership with effective management support particularly in relation to strategic team event development and management
Requirements
Requirements:
· Sound business knowledge with proven ability to make informed business decisions in challenging circumstances.
· Good understanding of HSBC structures, processes and objectives across the Group
· Good knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, competitors etc.
· Strong knowledge of DBS – functionally, operationally and financially
· Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in simple language to support problem analysis
· Strong relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills
· Practical experience of driving and delivering business transformation and continuous improvement.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
