DevOps Engineer

Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC's global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.
We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.
Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2019 and beyond, we are currently seeking a DevOps Engineer.
Brief overview of the business areas
The BSM Services EMEA POD provides overseeing Project Governance & Coordination, Project Management, Business Analysis, Technical, Functional Support, Test Management, Strategic and Tactical Development Solutions for the broad range of initiatives being covered by the Balance Sheet Management (BSM) Desk, and Business support groups.
The xFOS platform is based on a Murex 3.1.34 platform with a high degree of customization in terms of STP interfaces (from upstream trade capture systems, post trade, static and market data systems) and special valuation models accessed through FLEX.
What you will be doing;
Project Responsibilities

Negotiating with the Business, Murex, IT development and support teams to ensure prioritisation of competing business and technical requirements

Communicate with the Business, Murex, IT development and support teams to ensure successful requirements gathering
·
Technical and Functional enhancement scoping
·
Translating these requirements into design solutions
·
Delivering high quality enhancements and developments for Projects to the systems within demanding timescales
·
To ensure consistent architecture and business processes across Sites
·
Providing advice and support to other members of the XFOS IT team
·
Liaise with Murex (3rd party vendor) for core bug fixes
·
Help with Go-Live and training to users and Support
·
Releasing bug fixes to production
The Pod operates across all of 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd line although we have seats on the Desk, so candidates should be comfortable dealing with users directly. A key responsibility is to ensure that the Pod functions as a team to deliver a high level of service to the desk, sharing expertise as required.

Qualifications :
What you will bring to the role;
To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:
· Mx3.1 experience (ideally 3.1.34)
· Knowledge of following Murex modules / areas:
· Simulation views
· MxML workflows
· GOM (e.g. Multi entity, STP rights)
·
Market Data feeds (including mdrs and mdcs)
·
Rate Curve configuration and assignments
· Datamart and reporting
· Murex Table structure
· CTT
· Sybase SQL
· Linux (Bash / ksh scripting)
· Java / GIT
· Excel
·
IT Service Management (Incident / Change / Problem Management)
·
Investment Banking IT background, ideally working in a front office environment
·
Full project lifecycle experience
·
Product knowledge of Swaps, Bonds, IR Derivatives, FX, MM, Repo & Collaterals with detailed experience in one or more Asset Class
·
Knowledge of PnL , Risk, PLVAR (Explain) and Reconciliation
