Murex Business Analyst

Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC's global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2019 and beyond, we are currently seeking a Murex Business Analyst.


Brief overview of the business areas


The XFOS IT team deliver strategic and tactical development solutions for the London Emerging Markets trading desk, the Balance Sheet Management desk, Treasuries in satellite sites locations and business support groups.

The XFOS platform is based on a Murex 3.1.34 platform with a degree of customization in terms of STP interfaces (from upstream trade capture systems, post trade and static and market data systems) and special valuation models accessed through FLEX


What you will be doing;

Project Responsibilities

·
Negotiating with the Business, Murex, IT development and support teams to ensure successful prioritisation of competing business and technical requirements

·
Technical and Functional enhancement scoping and requirements gathering

·
Communicate with the Business, Murex, IT development and support teams to ensure successful requirements gathering

·
Translating these requirements into appropriate solutions

·
Delivering high quality enhancements and developments for Projects to the systems within demanding timescales

·
High degree of organisation and discipline relating to task planning, project governance and source code management.

·
To ensure consistent architecture and business processes across Sites

·
Providing advice and support to other members of the XFOS IT team

·
Liaise with Murex (3rd party vendor) for core bug fixes

·
Help with Go-Live and training to users and Support

·
Delivering bug fixes to production

The vast majority of support will be 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd line as we have a dedicated front line team to support the users. A key role is to ensure this front line team has all the required knowledge in order to carry out their role.

Qualifications :

What you will bring to the role;

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

·  Mx3.1 experience only
· 
Essentially very strong functional knowledge and a good all-rounder in terms of Murex experience and ability

· 
Detailed Product Knowledge of Swaps, Bonds, IR Derivatives, FX and MM

· 
Thorough knowledge of PnL, Risk, PL Explain (PLVariation Module), Simulation, Datamart

·  Knowledge of the Murex tables
· 
Knowledge of setting up Multi-Entity system, General Settings, MxML Exchange

· 
Analytical approach to problem solving

· 
Proven technical, support and enhancement experience

· 
Financial development experience in a front office environment

· 
At least two or more full project lifecycle experience
