Job description

The Mortgage Arranger role is based within the branch network for the Channel Islands.

The role of the Mortgage Arranger is to establish and grow our Mortgage business. You will be providing a professional mortgage service to both new and existing customers in line with the Bank's policy on treating customers fairly (TCF). The role is expected to deliver a high quality, customer driven, sales focused service by identifying customer needs for the Mortgage products and selling products and services to meet those needs. The jobholder is responsible for planning, implementing and achieving targets in relation to sales performance, quality service and sales activity.

It is desirable if you have passed the full CeMAP qualification however this is not an essential requirement for the role as mortgages are not currently regulated in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man.

Your responsibilities will include:

·  Meet customers' needs mortgage package that is fully tailored to their individual needs.
·  Recognise the protection and financial planning needs of individual customers and make referrals to other areas of the bank, where the customers' wider needs can be met.
·  Seeking out and building on effective working relationships with key stakeholders within and outside of the immediate business area.
·  Spending time training branch employees to ensure they are all fully aware of all mortgage and mortgage related products as well as coaching branch employees to generate quality appointments
·  Keeping up to date with mortgage and mortgage related products and any related financial issues, as well as with competitor products so that honest and fair comparisons can be made when requested.
·  Staying in touch with existing customers to ensure they are happy with their product and to maximise the chance of additional referrals.

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

·  Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. A high quality customer driven service and sales environment
·  Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. Microsoft Office package, Word, Excel
·  Experience of working towards sales targets and willingness to be assessed against sales achievements
·  Willingness to undertake the training/study required in this role, i.e. Encouraged and supported to undertake CeMap
·  Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Mortgage Products is desirable but not essential
·  Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Experience in the mortgage arena is desirable but not essential
·  Role relevant qualifications, i.e.CeMAP is desirable but not essential
·  A track record of gaining an understanding of customers' needs and delivering excellent customer service
·  Achieved targets and met expectations whilst supporting and encouraging others to do the same
·  Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
·  Experience of making prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes
·  Handled basic lending effectively with a broad understanding of lending processes, products and their associated risks
·  Demonstrated an ability to match products and services with clients' needs to generate sales in an ethical manner
