The Mortgage and Protection Manager role is based within Retail Banking and Wealth Management.
The Mortgage and Protection Manager role within our branch network is to establish and grow our Mortgage and Protection business. You will support a Branch Manager by providing a professional mortgage and protection advice service to both new and existing customers in line with the Bank’s policy on treating customers fairly (TCF). The role is expected to deliver a high quality, customer driven, sales focused service by identifying customer needs for Mortgage, Life Protection and General Insurance products providing advice, and selling products and services to meet those needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
Proactively drive mortgage performance and tracks MI to ensure that all personal and team sales performances exceed plan
Identify and meet customers’ wider protection needs and provide continuous service to ensure protection products provided remain suitable for the customer.
Seek out new and innovative ways to drive our mortgage business and challenges barriers in the mortgage sales processwork closely with the Product Team, HSBC regional offices, UK Mortgage team, Credit and other relevant teams to identify opportunities and best practices
Recognise the wider financial planning needs of individual customers and make referrals to other areas of the bank, where the customers’ wider needs can be met.
Desired profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Mortgage and Protection products
Role relevant qualifications, i.e. Full CeMap qualification or equivalent
Experience of working towards sales targets and willingness to be assessed against sales achievements
Willingness to undertake the training/study required in this role, i.e. Successful candidates will be required to complete the CII RO5 (Financial Protection) module within the first 12 months in the role.
Role relevant qualifications, i.e. CF6 or equivalent is desirable but not essential
A desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers
Achieved targets and met expectations whilst supporting and encouraging others to do the same
Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
Experience of successful budget management and use of numerical data to assesses and report on performance and/or identify business issues and opportunities
Handled basic lending effectively with a broad understanding of lending processes, products and their associated risks
Used their business knowledge and understanding of customer needs to successfully manage and grow customer relationships
