The Manager Stress Testing role is based within European Risk Strategy.
The role of the Manager Stress Testing is based within Europe Risk Strategy. The HBEU Stress Testing and Economic Capital team has responsibility for regional stress testing, regulatory & ad hoc requests for stress testing and capital adequacy assessment for the HSBC Bank plc balance sheet (solo and consolidated) across all global businesses and risk categories.
Your responsibilities will include:
Plan and execute regional stress tests. Analysis & interpretation of regional stress test results
Stress Testing support to HBEU countries and oversight as appropriate to ensure analysis informs senior management decision making.
Review and challenge of stress testing results to ensure they meet regulatory / regional requirements
Coordination of management actions quantification and selection
Support the HBEU risk function and businesses on prudential regulation issues.

Desired profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Role relevant qualifications, i.e.Undergraduate in Economics, Business Administration, Finance or experience in a related field
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Stress Testing experience working in a risk function central bank, or investment bank is desirable but not essential
Role relevant qualifications,
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Quantitative expertise, equivalent to that of a degree in a numerate discipline
Knowledge of risk management and risk measurement across multiple areas
Ability to plan and execute stress tests in a large bank.
Assessing and reviewing quantitative analysis, skill at building arguments from quantitative information
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including giving feedback to colleagues and defending results with confidence and credibility
Proven project management skills. is desirable but not essential"
A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
Proven experience of motivating others to deliver exceptional performance and long terms results
Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
Built effective networks both internally and externally and created opportunities for others to work collaboratively
Planned projects and activities systematically in line with business priorities, using a variety of analysis and problem solving techniques
Proven experience of successful project management, utilising relevant tools and techniques to ensure consistent delivery
A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
