Role Context
The Business Finance Analyst will support the Regional Head of Finance - MENA in implementing the RBWM strategy at a country level and manage the delivery of a professional, effective, responsive and joined-up finance service to the country at optimal cost. The role holder is responsible for delivering month end reporting, analysis and commentary in liaison with the Global Finance Committee as well as ensuring a smooth month end close and improving, enhancing and expanding the current processes run by RBWM Finance. This role provides independent dedicated finance support that is able to respond to business needs and provide an objective view of performance and understand, monitor and challenge the business cost trends. The role holder provides insight into direct and indirect cost drivers and outlook.

Key responsibilities:
· Support the business by analyzing the results including identification of risks and opportunities, as well as recommending actions.
· Business analysis and interpretation includes:
· profitability analysis and cost management
· benchmarking (competitor, cost, site comparison)
· ad hoc analysis
· Analysis of segmental income by products based on MI produced by the central Management Information, Planning & Analytics
· Delivers the month end reporting, analysis and commentary in liaison with Global Finance Committee
· Support on cost management and providing insight into direct and indirect cost drivers
· Participates as an active member of the regional business team. Partners with business leaders and staff to ensure finance strategy is implemented, and act as a champion on all finance activities
· Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which one is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
· Operate at an executive level to engage business leaders, communicate effectively and contribute to control and governance processes.
· Leadership of a small team of specialist resources with focus on providing value added and insightful analysis. This requires disciplined prioritisation and leadership to avoid becoming little more than a source of ad-hoc management information.
· Exceptional relationship and teamwork competencies to obtain information required for insightful analysis provide balanced support across business teams and manage expectations in terms of scope.

Desired profile

Requirements
·  University degree (BA) or (BS)
·  2 to 5 years work experience within financial services or banking
·  The prospective candidate should have a proven track record in financial analysis with practical experience and knowledge of retail banking products. Professionalism and communication skills are essential given the nature of the role and exposure to executive management
·  Strong communication skills
