Job description

Researches, analyzes and documents moderate to complex financial analysis projects within assigned department. Prepares and analyzes operating and strategic plans, including quarterly forecasts.
Provodes support for timely and accurate reporting of financial results in accordance with Company, Group, GAAP, and other regulatory reporting requirements.

Impact on the Business
· Preparing monthly analysis of financial results identifying key drivers of variances to plan, forecast, and prior periods
· Parner with the Business on business analyses in support of initiattives including plans, forecasts, product profitability, product pricing, understanding of RWA reporting, stress testing and similar regulatory mandated analyses
· Provide support for qrtly SEC, Group and regulatory reporting needs related to RBWM including CCAR and stress testing
· Evaluate plans and forecasts against actual results; prepare analyses and present recommendations to management.
· Complete special projects to support business objectives to include analysis of new business opportunities and new operational processes, financial statement analysis, forecasting and cash flow analysis and planning.
Customers / Stakeholders
· Provide monthly reporting to management on the status of revenue, operating expenses and LICs against relevant benchmarks (i.e. current forecast, historical results, industry competitors, etc.).
Leadership & Teamwork
· Proivde support for month-end close process and review validation and assessment of financial accounting information to promote timely and accurate internal and external reporting.
· Manage the preparation of all quarterly and annual reporting to be submitted to Corporate Finance and/or Group.
· Provode leadership and develop an effective team through communication, performance management, development plans and reward/recognition practices.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
· To implement the Group compliance policy locally by containing compliance risk in liaison with the Head of Group Compliance, Global Business Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources and training, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators.
· Complete other responsibilities, as assigned.
Major Challenges
· Proficiency in several systems (often changing systems)requiring on-going proficiency (FTP, Cognos, FTP MI, CGLOFB, Group and local TM1s, etc)
· Development of Global Business strategy and changing economic environment and impact on key drivers of business results
· Deep understanding of the business and business processes
Role Context
· Incumbents may also complete the following:
· Work with financial systems personnel to enhance or implement new accounting or finance information systems.
· Support chargeback functions for business or unit.
· Coordinate financial and operations internal audits.
· Identify alternatives for balancing financial resources with business needs. Research risks and opportunities; recommend and implement approved alternatives.
Management of Risk
· Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.
Observation of Internal Controls
· Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  Minimum of three years proven and progressive financial reporting and/or accounting experience, or equivalent. Public or major corporate accounting or financial services experience preferred.
·  Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, related field or equivalent experience; CPA designation or MBA preferred.
·  Strong managerial, problem solving, analytical and communication skills.
·  Proficiency with personal computers and pertinent mainframe systems and software packages. Experience with automated accounting systems preferred.
