Description
The role of the GCB6 Business Intelligence Analyst is based within the Retail Banking & Wealth Management sector. This is a diverse role where you will consult with stakeholders to determine data requirements and generate data from relevant HSBC systems as well as external sources to provide updates to key stakeholders. You will also participation on the design and delivery of reporting applications, conduct analysis to detect trends and anomalies and suggest remedial actions or escalate detections which give cause for concern. You will also share information with stakeholders in suitable forms, these may be charts, tables or templates and participate in forums, meetings or events to interpret data and support decision making to stakeholders within the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Responsible for sourcing data and analysis to ensure the optimisation of all Retail Banking activities, proposition and channels to achieve maximum returns.
· Setting and agreeing improvement initiatives to deliver plan.
· Ensure development of management information within agreed service levels and business priorities
· Analysis of Management Information, providing commentary on operational performance; reviewing business drivers and trends, assessing and forecasting their long and short term impact
· Continuously reviews and proactively seeks to improve processes, systems and practices that impact upon forecasting and Management Information (MI) analysis/reporting
· Works in conjunction with business areas to ensure MI is valuable and to identify future MI requirements along with potential changes to existing MI services/processes
· Managing customers to identify requirements and driving out detail specification to meet reporting needs
· Provides specialist skills and knowledge to business projects – investigate data requirements and work with external areas/customers
· Attend, participates and where appropriate, chair management meetings, delivering results of operational performance, providing MI data to aid the analysis of business problems and make recommendations for improvement
· Facilitate skills transfer and training to team members and the wider business' end users in the technical and practical use of systems and software packages.

Qualifications :
The ideal candidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications:
· Advanced Excel and knowledge of SAS
· Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
· Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
· A broad understanding of financial budgets/statements/models, with experience of analysing data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting
The base location for this role will be Chester.
