About ALCM Operations
ALCM Operations (ALCM FinOps) is responsible for the production of all ALM returns (internal and external) for liquidity, funding and interest rate risks for HSBC operating entities globally. This encompasses the implementation of the liquidity framework, the establishment of global processes across entities, the enhancement of controls and checks, and the development of reviews and analyses across all returns.

ALCM Operations has been historically delivered out of the FinOps locations in India – Gurgaon and Chennai. With the creation of the ALCM FinOps structure in 2017, Vancouver has been added as an additional Operations Centre for the production of liquidity reporting for entities in Americas.

Key Objectives for Liquidity and Reporting Analyst (Contract):

The selected candidate will be part of the ALCM Operations - Vancouver Centre responsible for processing, analysing and validating financial and management data for liquidity reporting.
· The role is responsible for timely submission of accurate and GL-reconciled liquidity and funding reporting to key stakeholders and / regulators.
· Communicate to stakeholders the analysis and / observation of anomalies on liquidity reporting
· Support management to provide initial analysis of variances and drivers primarily to Partnering & Insight, Modelling and Governance & Control.
· Respond to regular and ad hoc data and report requests from key finance and non finance customers.
· Ensure all work undertaken complies with HSBC policies, procedures and work practices.
· Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications:
·  Bachelor's degree or minimum of 2 years proven and progressive financial services or banking experience, with a background in finance, economics, and/or statistics/mathematics, or with an engineering background but have a strong interest in Finance
·  Enrolment in one of the CPA or CFA programs would be an asset
·  Strong technical Microsoft Access and Excel skills (keyboard navigation, macros / VBA programming) and be familiar working with large datasets
·  Ability to multi-task to ensure compliance with strict deadlines
·  Excellent time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to adapt to changing situations and be able to understand issues quickly
·  Strong attention to detail and being solution oriented
·  Good knowledge of balance sheet, banking and financial products (specifically treasury products) and how they impact finance operations and more generically the banking business
·  Good knowledge of Asset Liability Management (ALM), regulatory reporting and the relevant changes in a global environment would be an added advantage
·  Working knowledge of Banking systems and understanding of relevant regulatory reporting framework would be an added advantage
