GIA provides independent, objective assurance to management and the risk and audit committees as to whether the framework of risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate and functioning   The function comprises a number of Global teams and Regional Audit teams. The role holder undertakes IT audit activities as part of the GIA technology audit team.

This position requires some travel mainly within the region. 

Global Internal Audit Middle East and North Africa (GIA MENAT) is the regional control centre for the Global Audit function in the Middle East, covering nine countries, and is based in Dubai. The unit is directly responsible for audits covering the governance and operational risk management framework in the MENA region, any specific audits requested by the relevant Audit & Risk Committees and regulatory reviews where other in country units are not deemed sufficiently independent. GIA MENA’s responsibilities cover the branches and Head Office departments of HBME in UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Algeria; of HBEG in Egypt (with GIA EGY); HSBC Turkey and HSBC Saudi( HBSA). 

Duties & Responsibilities:

•    Supporting the delivery of IT audits and Integrated Audits by contributing to planning, performing fieldwork and managing the work allocated.
•    Completing the allocated IT audit fieldwork and issue remediation validation by using the designated or required GIA documentation and templates. 
•    As and when required, managing IT audits by identifying key stakeholders, organizing fieldwork, identifying weaknesses, escalating issues and assisting in their resolution.
•    Utilizing professional knowledge and expertise to understand the business and develop suitable audit approaches and solutions. 
•    Execute and document risk-based continuous monitoring on the designated audit universe areas, in line with the continuous monitoring strategy set.
•    Develop a good understanding of Technology risks and controls. Perform audits on key technology risks (including IT General controls and automated controls). 
•    Proper documentation of audit findings, including the recording of evidence, during fieldwork.
•    Communicate issues and concerns to stakeholders in a clear, confident and objective manner.
•    Cultivate proactive stakeholder engagement and cooperation, working closely with key individuals in IT management and business leaders. 
•    Ensure that audit information requests submitted to management and staff are appropriate and relevant to the scope of the audit.
•    Documenting audit findings, discussions, recommendations and management responses.
•    Adhere to GIA and HSBC corporate standards of conduct.

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree is a must to obtain UAE visa.
•    Written and verbal communication skills, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, lateral thinking and interpersonal skills. 
•    Foundation knowledge of the Company, Group and financial services industry, business supported and the regulatory framework they operate in. 
•    Understanding of IT governance, risk management, internal control frameworks, and regulatory requirements, with knowledge in the design or operation of controls in IT or IT security. 
•    Willingness to travel within the region. 
•    Professional certification such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) is preferred.
•    Has strong Information Technology skills to effectively understand the risks and controls related to technology risks.
•    Has an ability to develop good knowledge of the risk, regulatory and commercial aspects of their tasks.
•    Has an ability to work for or on behalf of a variety of different managers and cultural environments.
•    Understands the importance of integrity and values within the HSBC Group.
