Role Title: Platform Architect – Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Role Purpose

Accountable for shaping the architecture domain roadmap within Programme and leading development of respective discipline within the CMB practice for data management.

This key responsibility within this role is to Maintains database by determining structural requirements; developing and installing solutions:

· Manage proof of concepts, exploratory projects to identify, evaluate and eventually adopt most suitable Cloud Computing (Public & Private Clouds, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS)
· Expertise in developing, refine, and execute the Cloud Computing strategy and roadmap.
· Collaborate with cloud computing teams to define Cloud Computing adoption models, best practices, use cases, guidance documents etc.
· Work with other technical and data center architects for migration plans; application migration plans, requirements and needs; .
· Should be able to develop a comprehensive technical architecture to support the multi-year agenda for cloud adoption.
· Should be able to plan and lead all aspects of Cloud Infrastructure projects such as Cloud Management
· Should be able to lead Technical Architecture reviews in coordination with the Lead Solution
· Recent experience in Architecture, Design, and Implementation of highly scalable, highly available, Cloud (SaaS) services and solutions.
· Hands on experience in creating and deploying complex cloud infrastructure solutions in small and large environments.
· Hands on experience with some of the following service architectures: Amazon Web Services, Google Web Services, Azure, Terremark, Rackspace etc
· Data Center architecture & design experience for large customer environments

· Determines structural requirements by analyzing operations, applications, and programming; reviewing objectives; evaluating current systems;
· Develops solutions by designing proposed system; defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.
· Installs systems by developing flowcharts; applying optimum access techniques; coordinating installation actions; documents actions.
· Maintains performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; completing maintenance; answering user questions.

· Provides support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Leadership & Teamwork

Lead the transformation of testing into a continuous and efficient end to end quality development function using quality processes, tools, and methodologies significantly improving control, accuracy and integrity.

Responsible for team mentoring and reporting to the DevOps team.

Demonstrate leadership on Regulatory & Compliance matters. Maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance

Operational Effectiveness & Control

Maintain and observe HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators. Foster a compliance culture and implement Group Compliance Policy by managing compliance risk in liaison with the Head of Group Compliance, Regional Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources are in place and training is provided, and optimising relations with regulators.

· Implementation of the project at aggressive timelines
· The need to quickly mobilise a solution to meet the demands of Business Sponsors
· In the initial phase heavy reliance on vendor resources

Management of Risk

Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIMs, GSMs, circulars) and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group's standards of ethical behaviour
