Role Title: HSS Trade Processing Test Manager
Business: HSBC Securities Services – HSS Trade Processing

Role Purpose
To Facilitate and coordinate testing requirements and execution for key client, and scheduled release deliverables. The scope of the testing will be primarily in the post trade execution and processing space but will involve co-ordination with process and system owners dependent upon trade feeds, including Pricing, Fund accounting and data provision etc.
Understand the project/release goals as set out by the Project Manager;
Preparation of test strategy documentation;
Preparation of test plans;
Liaison with environments teams for test environment preparation and support;
Liaison with Project Manager and Business teams to ensure test execution is appropriately resourced;
Liaison with Client Project and Test Managers to ensure appropriate test and resource coverage,
Hands-on co-ordination of test execution and defect tracking and resolution;
Reporting of test metrics and progress;
Key Accountabilities
Impact on the Business
The Testing Support Manager will take guidance from the Project Manager and execute test strategy and manage test preparation, ensuring consistency across all components. This will span multiple Project and Business functions across a number of Global locations e.g. London, Colombo, Hong Kong, Edinburgh & Glasgow.
The role will have a high business content and will naturally involve considerable exposure to global Project team members and Business users. A good understanding of the underlying business and ability to maintain excellent relationships across the business is essential.
Responsibilities will include the following duties. These may vary or change slightly according to the projects being managed.
Testing
· Define detailed business and external driven run-books and milestones
· Co-ordination across multi-function, multi-locations
· Co-ordinate Business testing and track results
· Co-ordinate Client testing and track results
· Ensure Testing Strategy and Practices are followed
Communication
· Daily progress dashboards
· External e.g. client and regulator liaison and communication if appropriate
Management of Risk
Is aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations for clients globally.
Observation of Internal Controls
· Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including the Group Compliance policy.
Desired profile
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
· At least 5 years of experience in the Financial and Banking industry environment (e.g, Middle Office, Fund Administration, Custody, etc.)
· A minimum of 3 years testing coordination experience. Knowledge of Project Management is essential.
· Strong inter-personal and communication skills; must be capable of producing clear, unambiguous plans, run books and progress dashboards
· Must be self-motivated and be able to interpret instructions succinctly. Must have strong problem solving skills, and be self-directed when necessary.
· Ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues and clients.
· Ability to plan and organise workload to meet deadlines, taking into account priorities.
· Proficiency in the creation of critical path project plans and detailed test plans is essential.
· Advanced skills in use of MS Project, Visio and MS Office software is desirable
Knowledge of Markit Trade, Calypso, Icon or Geneva is desirable, but not essential
