Context

HSBC University China, our new global leadership development centre in Nansha, Guangzhou, is scheduled to open H1 2025. The centre will have training and conference facilities that include an auditorium, multi-purpose hall, training rooms, restaurant, coffee and bar areas, a gym and 170 guest bedrooms. We anticipate inviting several thousand HSBC delegates and guests from China, Asia, and around the world to attend programmes and events at the centre each year.

 

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will:  

·  Support the Centre Director to drive the operational deployment of the HSBC University premises in China in line with HSBC values, supporting workstreams as we lead up to the opening including Corporate Services, Operations, Technology, Finance and HR.
·  Establish and manage the pre-opening booking, administration and planning processes for all training programmes and events at the centre, ensuring effective handover to Frasers pre-opening.
·  Support the Centre Director to manage the annual Financial Resource Plan, liaising with General Manager and other third-party vendors.
·  Ensure day to day operations meet the required standards and act as the escalation point for any issues raised by third party vendors.
·  Liaison with trainers and facilitators prior to and during their events.
·  Support the Centre Director as the face of HSBC and host for all senior attendees, ensuring all requirements are established and successfully fulfilled.
·  The jobholder will be expected to exercise independent initiative in proactively overcoming obstacles to success, dealing with uncertainty, and changing circumstances, such as interdependencies, opportunities or risks.
·  The jobholder will be expected to adopt an agile and flexible approach to work and an outstanding level of professionalism and conduct
·  Liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including senior managers, government and regulators.

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

·  Excellent written and spoken communication skills, both English and Mandarin; an ability to communicate with impact in a meaningful way to a wide and varied audiences.
·  Experience working in relevant environment/s is essential, i.e. financial services, operations, hospitality, or Human Resources.
·  Proficient in the use of M365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
·  Awareness or aptitude to learn to use HSBC approved tools and systems e.g. Fusion, Poppulo, Success Factors
·  Proactively build internal and external relationships and collaborate with others.
·  The ability to multi-task and manage multiple activities simultaneously against tight deadlines.
·  Fluent in English and Mandarin.
