We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management, Hong Kong
The job holder, being a leader of the business that generates material annual revenue of USD4 billion with leading market position and customer satisfaction, supported by 7,000 staff, plays a strategic role in driving the business. Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM) Hong Kong is a key contributor to both the global business and the Hong Kong entity, Hong Kong is one of the two home markets of HSBC and that the Bank is committed to sustain investments into the business.
Principal responsibilities
Develop business strategies to continuously grow revenue and profitability via a complete, well-diversified shelf of Retail Banking and Wealth Management solutions that meets with the needs of different customer segments
Sustain customer satisfaction and the Bank's reputation as the Most Preferred Retail Bank of Hong Kong
Direct a customer-centric distribution model that enables customers to access the full range of RBWM services 24x7 from around the world, supported by innovative digital enhancements and capabilities
Establish the highest control and operating standards for the Bank in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements
Drive streamlining imperatives to efficiently and robustly manage costs and the business operations
Engender a positive and collaborative culture, underpinned by the values of the Bank, to continuously uplift employee engagement within the department, supporting functions and key stakeholders across geographies of the Bank. Lead by examples
Manage effective working relationships with regulators, media, partners, and suppliers to ensure the Bank's reputation and position is fairly represented
Desired profile
Requirements
Extensive experience in retail banking and wealth management
Master’s degree holder with proven management experience in branch banking, digital, phone banking and commercial lending experience
Proven capability in strategic planning, commercial judgment, organisational and project management skills
Proven track record in managing change and building a positive working culture
Excellent leadership and influencing skills with an ability to inspire and develop others, and the ability to operate in a complex matrix culture
Sound knowledge and understanding of global and regulatory standards impacting retail banking activities, delivery systems and channels
The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
