We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Infrastructure Transformation MSS

What you’ll do:
· Build collaborative and open relationships with key stakeholders within the CTO (Chief Technical Office) organization, MSS Technology and the business.
· Represent the requirements of MSS Technology within infrastructure related forums to ensure key and required outcomes are met.
· Understand and communicate internal infrastructure offerings that can be used across the MSS technology estate.
· Actively engage with key infrastructure teams to ensure that solutions are built to the standards and requirements of the MSS business and technology teams.
· Lead both the MSS core infrastructure team and a “virtual” team of infrastructure SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) that align to individual asset classes – Setting the strategic direction for teams to meet Objectives and Key Results (OKR)
· Work closely with Value Stream / Asset Class leads and SMEs to define and implement infrastructure and cloud strategies, allowing business needs to be supported whilst ensuring that costs and other important considerations such as energy efficiency and regulatory requirements are managed.
· Ensure that a number of Technology controls are managed in line with group expectations – building relationships with control owners and representing MSS in a range of control forums.
· Act as escalation point for infrastructure issues that MSS teams are unable to resolve.
· Work closely with the MSS CTO lead to ensure that infrastructure related risks are identified, documented, and managed through to conclusion.
· Work closely with the Head of MSS Production to help build solutions that will enhance stability and resiliency across the estate.
· Identify key blockers and play a key role in their removal – implementing both tactical and strategic solutions accordingly.
· Advise and guide the shaping of the infrastructure architecture which underpins the application estate and platforms.
· Ensure that HSBC group infrastructure standards are understood and promoted across MSS technology.
Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role:
· Experience in leading infrastructure teams and processes, looking for opportunities to simplify, upskill and automate to help improve resiliency and reduce cost.
· An extensive technical architecture background with detailed knowledge of platforms and underlying infrastructure (Data Centre, Server, Networks, Storage, Database, Desktops, Monitoring, Virtualization, Public Cloud, CI/CD etc).
· A clear understanding of risk and control actives and escalation processes.
· Excellent communication skills that ensure clear and concise messaging across all levels of the MSS Technology organization including presentations to the MSS IT Exco
· Ability to translate technical details into easily understood and consumable information that can be shared with non-technical stakeholders.
· Successfully deliver large scale infrastructure migration activities including the management of Evergreening portfolios.
· Proven leadership skills with experience of managing virtual teams (located locally and globally).
· Can clearly define recommendations and influence teams across the group to implement ideas for the betterment of MSS Technology and HSBC.
· The ability to take a pragmatic risk-based approach to solving problems, whilst ensuring stakeholders are updated accordingly.
· Drive continuous improvement and service stability for the MSS infrastructure and production estate. Looking for opportunities to implement automation and improve processes.
· Taking accountability and ownership of issues and problems.
· Have a keen interest in the latest trends and an eagerness to learn about emerging technologies.
