The Head of Cyber Intelligence role is based within the new Information Technology Security team, within HSBC Operating Services and Technologies.
The role of the Head of Cyber Intelligence is to act as the key point of contact for all issues surrounding Cyber, in setting the direction and writing the success metrics as well as leading the organisation into a new era for Cyber. Reporting to Head of Security Operations this person will operate as the Leader, in overseeing virtual teams managing the service for the Bank globally. We are looking for someone who can not only demonstrate strong subject matter expertise in Cyber Threat Intelligence but can also lead people and projects. You will be an experienced professional to lead the Global Cyber Threat Intelligence team. The ideal candidate will have the strategy and vision to mature the team into a recognized thought-leader in the Cyber Threat Intelligence Community.

Your responsibilities will include:
Interface with the security operations team and threat intelligence identifying areas for improvement and resiliency for the bank globally
Capture the requirements of the business and set the agenda following in-depth gap analysis carried out by the Cyber Threat Intelligence team
Provide thought leadership to all areas of the bank regarding Cyber Threat Intelligence improving awareness and manage the key stakeholders
Act as a key member of the bank's steering committee representing Cyber Threat Intelligence, sharing your vision and negotiate the backing of your management team
Lead implementations of new toolkit as advised by the management team
Oversee cyber threat information and intelligence gathering and analysis operations.
Lead threat and vulnerability research efforts.
Follow trends in geopolitical and macroeconomic interests of attackers, and identify areas that may become targets and to profile threat actors.
Lead and mature the Global Cyber Threat Intelligence program.
Lead global threat intelligence management, standardization, sharing and integration efforts.
Oversees selection, hiring, training, and evaluation of employees/Team members to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
Oversees preparation and recommendation of operating and personnel budgets for approval. Monitors spending for adherence to budget, recommends variances as necessary.
Ability to locate and assimilate new information to provide context for security events
Ability to recognize and research attacks and attack patterns
Desired profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of SIEM
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Finance, Military, Defence, large complex environment
Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Experience working globally
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. experience within a previous Cyber Intelligence role
Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. You will be require to travel globally
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of QRADAR is desirable but not essential
A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
Proven experience of motivating others to deliver exceptional performance and long terms results
Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
Built effective networks both internally and externally and created opportunities for others to work collaboratively
A track record of making strategic business decisions, considering relevant risks, long term implications, commercial realities and stakeholders' needs
Acted as a strategic advisor to customers, having established and built valuable long-term relationships with significant customers
The base location for this role is Sheffield, Stirling, Birmingham, Chester, Hong Kong
