Job Purpose (overall high level summary of the role)

Role Description
• The Trading role will focus on trading and market making Emerging Markets rates products to a wide range of corporate and institutional clients.
• The position will focus on Turkish derivative markets, with a view to expand abilities to other CEEMA markets.
• The role will require the candidate to provide colour on the markets, trading of long dated FX TRY products, trading of TRS OIS and TRY cross currency.
• The role would suit a candidate with a track of effective market making and revenue generation in FX derivatives.

Principal Accountabilities:
Impact on the Business/Function

• Effectively maintains various risk positions and manages within position limits, providing liquidity and trade ideas to clients while trading within set limits to achieve a given revenue target
• Trading must take place within the given Volcker designation of the business
• Manage buy and sell orders in cooperation with sales desk. Ensure correct ticket entry and order routing
• Provides consistent and accurate pricing service to sales force and clients.
• Provides market information to sales staff as well as guidance on transaction opportunities and market timing
• Business dependent, monitors daily electronic trading activity and determines where certain trades should be routed for execution, reviews all activity for accuracy of account information
• Responsible for daily P&L sign-off(s) for the trading book(s) managed
• Executes firm and customers' trades in accordance with desk Volcker designation and may contribute to the formulation of trading strategies
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of the product area including market liquidity and volatility, pricing and trading strategies
• Strong technical and market knowledge

deliver agreed plans and targets, collaborating with colleagues to maximise end to end integration, effectiveness and efficiency
• Establish and maintain a robust and efficient control environment to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise
• Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs
timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels
• Lead the implementation and oversight of policy and governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality,
effective risk management and regulatory compliance

The jobholder is responsible for managing and mitigating operational risks in their day to day operations. In executing these responsibilities, the Group has adopted risk management and internal control structure referred to as the 'Three Lines of Defence'. The jobholder should ensure they understand their position
within the Three Lines of Defence, and act accordingly in line with operational risk policy, escalating in a timely manner where they are unsure of actions required

The jobholder will adhere to, and be able to demonstrate adherence to, internal controls and will implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures

Through the implementation the Global AML, Sanctions and ABC Policies, supporting Guidance, and Line of Business Procedures the jobholder will make informed decisions in accordance with the core principles of HSBC's Financial Crime Risk Appetite

Qualifications :

Certifications, Qualifications & Experience (For the Job – not the Job holder. Minimum requirements of the Job)


• Experience in trading TRY FX swaps / or cross currency / or OIS
• Track record of effective market making and revenue generation in derivatives.
• Prior FX trading or related experience.
• Must have thorough knowledge of derivative and yield curve valuations.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
• University degree in Finance or Data analytics.
• Must have strong MS Excel skills.
• Must have experience with Bloomberg.
• Must have tier one bank experience, for at least one year
• Basic python knowledge a plus.
