GCP Cloud DevOps Engineer

Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC's global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.
We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.
Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2020 and beyond, we are currently seeking a GCP Cloud Engineer join HSBC Technology.
You will work within an agile team of Engineers and Operations personnel building highly resilient, scalable and performant GCP infrastructure in an automated and efficient manner. You will work alongside the Application DevOps teams and cross-functional IT teams. You will be required to use your initiative to innovate to achieve maximum performance and be prepared to investigate and use new products/services offered by GCP.
What you will be doing;

Build and manage the HSBC GCP foundation platform to enable application deployments.

Engineer solutions on GCP foundation platform using Infrastructure As Code methods (e.g. Terraform)
·
Integrate, configure, deploy and manage centrally provided common cloud services (e.g. IAM, networking, logging, Operating systems, Containers.)
· Manage SDN in GCP
·
Ensure compliancy with Operational risk standards (E.g. Network, Firewall, OS, Logging, Monitoring, Availability, Resiliency)

Build and support continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD) and continuous testing activities
Desired profile
Qualifications :
What you will bring to the role;
·
Demonstrable Cloud service provider experience (ideally GCP) - infrastructure build and configurations of a variety of services including Compute, Storage, SDN (VPC and XPN)

Demonstrable experience of Linux administration and scripting preferably Red Hat
·
Experience of working with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD) and continuous testing tools
· Experience working within an Agile environment
·
Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, Go, Groovy, Scala.
The position will primarily be based in London at out cutting edge tech hub at the BlueFin Building, Southwark.
