Overview:

The GBM Equities business at HSBC is currently developing a new execution, market making, algo and risk management platform to replace a series of vendor based systems.

This is a global platform covering parts of the Cash, Delta 1 and Derivatives business in Equities.

The platform is currently being built by a small business focussed team across London, Hong Kong and China.


Purpose of the Job:

The purpose of this role is to add capacity to the core Falcon development team based in London focussed on Delta1 execution tools and related functionality.

Responsible for:
This is primarily a server-side focused role using Scala.

This role will focus on building all parts of the system including Algo containers, market making functionality, derivatives pricing, view servers and core EMS (Execution management system).

Major Challenges:

Able to work in small business focussed (trading floor based) development team working on a high profile project with global stakeholders.

Qualifications :

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

ESSENTIAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS (Experience, skills, competencies etc.)

·  Java/JVM Development experience
·  Highly proficient in multithreaded core Java or Scala including profiling.
·  Able to work closely with business stakeholders


IDEAL CANDIDATE REQCUIRMENTS (Experience, skills, competencies etc.)

·  Scala development experience
·  Front office (Trading floor) development experience
·  Experience working on Equities and Derivative execution and market making platforms
·  Equity Derivatives and Delta1 business knowledge
·  React/JavaScript development experience.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION (KPIs, travel etc.)

·  No specific travel is expected – but there may be an opportunity to work in Hong Kong as part of this role.

The base location for this role is London, 8CS
