Job description

Overview:
·         HSBC Global Asset Management is commencing a significant Front to Back renewal programme of their key systems & processes.  It is very important that we have strong domain experts with a proven delivery capability; especially in the implementation of 3rd party products.  I am looking for an individual role who is a specialist in:
·         Front Office (Thinkfolio ,  BBG AIM , Charles River) and Middle Office (Cadis) and has strong Business Analysis background.
 
Purpose of the Job:     
·         The role focuses on the Business Analysis leading the transition from Thinkfolio to BBG AIM for the UK Fixed Income desk.   BBG PORT is also being implemented for Equity Portfolio Analysis
·         The functional areas to analyse and document :
·         Analyse/Document Requirements UK Fixed income business processes (users flows)
·         Analyse/Document Requirements UK Fixed income business processes (static data
- accounts , brokers, securities, pricing etc)
·         Analyse/Document  Thinkfolio functionality,  trade messaging, position feeds
-   source data and destination data
·         Analyse/Document Requirements  BBG AIM data integration requirements (position data in, trade message out).  Liaise with Data integration team (Cadis) to design and build feeds in/out of BBG AIM.
·         Analyse/Document Requirements   BBG AIM user functionality requirements
·         Analyse/Document Requirements  BBG AIM additional feeds to deliver to interested parties requirements
·         Ensuring consistency of solutions for both BBG AIM and BBG Port.
·         Assisting the BBG Port Project Manager on specific analysis and solution documents and procedures.
·         Liaise with BBG AIM Implementation managers
·         Liaise with HSBC New York Project Managers and BA's
 
Responsible For:         
·         Documentation of existing and future business processes and flows.
·         Assisting the IT Project Manager and Business Project Manager in decision making and planning.
·         Establishing relationships with key business stakeholders to elicit process and procedures forming a requirements traceability matrix.
·         Ensuring Risks and Issues logs are documented and updated.
 
Major Challenges:
·         Fragmented back office systems
·         Moving business to a Global OMS vs current local OMS
 

Desired profile

Essential Candidate Requirement (Experience, skills, competencies etc)
·         Strong Business Analysis Front Office experience.
·         Solid understanding of the Thinkfolio & Bloomberg
·         Asset Management business knowledge
·         Understanding of Project Management methodologies or the approach (i.e. Prince, Agile techniques etc..).
·         Excellent understanding of Asset Management business and Fund Management process from Portfolio Management, Order management and Compliance.
·         Experience in use of the following asset classes is essential
·         Equities
·         Fixed Income
·         Futures
·         Options
·         FX
·         Some interest rate derivative knowledge is desirable but not essential
 
Ideal Candidate Requirements (Experience, skills, competencies etc)
·         Communication, Pro-active, display initiative, good judge of people and situations.
·         Educated to graduate level (or an equivalent level of experience)
·         Knowledge of methods of information gathering
·         Appreciation of the nature of accountability, targets, outputs and outcomes.
·         In-depth experience in use of structured analysis
·         A proven track record in working in a global environment with users and IT resources teams being distributed
·         Good understanding of Asset Management related technology
 
Additional Information (KPIs, travel etc)
·         Strong specialist knowledge in implementing Global Front Office systems (In addition a good working knowledge of external applications that support these processes.)
·         Demonstrated experience in implementing OMS , to include the following:
·         Good understanding of the business workflows in the 3 major functional streams (Portfolio Management, Compliance, Trading incl. FIX) – specialisation in any one of these is at least as important as general knowledge in all.
·         Detailed understanding of OMS configuration supporting the above particularly in context of requirements, design, build and presentation (demo/training/UAT support and management)
·         Some technical skills (SQL in particular) – required for building underlying stored queries that are fundamental to OMS functionality
