Global Risk

Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of
risk types, including security, fraud, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance,
compliance, regulatory, market, reputation and geopolitical risks. All parts of the Global Risk
team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see
emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

Security and Fraud Risk

Security and Fraud Risk is responsible to protect staff, customers, assets, buildings and information in HSBC Malaysia. This is achieved by taking measures to reduce the risk of fraud, information leakage, crime and groups hostile to HSBC's interests, and by ensuring that suitable contingency procedures are in place.

The four main sections of Security and Fraud Risk are:

·  Business Continuity Management
To mitigate the impact of disasters through suitable contingency procedures.
·  Fraud Risk
To detect and prevent fraud (cards and non-cards) and to ensure that fraud risk is understood and managed.
·  Information Security Risk
To protect the Bank and its customers' physical and electronic information and to manage information security incidents.
·  Physical Security
To protect the Bank's physical assets, its customers and staff including the security of branches, guarding services and the installation of security systems.

We are now inviting qualified individuals to join this team in the role of Fraud Analyst.

Principal Responsibilities

·  Call cardholders and check with them on the transactions that are triggered by Falcon and to act immediately;
·  Analyse and review cardholder's profile on their spending pattern and make sound decision in loading ‘Potential Fraud' status to temporarily block the card;
·  Manage Falcon Referrals/Decline transactions on a timely manner so as to avoid impact to customer experience.
·  Identify and report new fraud trends to enable immediate preventive action by Falcon rules;
·  Handle SAS EFM (Fraud monitoring for Internet Banking) related cases assigned by
·  Assistant Manager Fraud Detection on a timely basis;
·  Assist in updating Customer's Travelling Plan into the Falcon System;
·  Observe the Service Level Agreement (SLA) by working closely with the superior and ensure high quality services are rendered and Falcon alerts are promptly acted upon.

Desired profile

Requirements

·  Preferably a diploma qualification. A degree qualification would be an advantage;
·  Good knowledge in Cards, customer service operations and/or other related fields;
·  A team player and a leader with an energetic and flexible working style, committed and self-motivated.
·  Good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills;
·  Proactive approach to problem solving;
·  Able to make decision whilst under pressure;
·  Must be prepared to work staggered hours/shift;
·  Knowledge about MasterCard International, Visa International, JCB Operating Rules & Regulations, FIM Group Cards/BIM, rules and regulations issued by the Ministry of Finance and Bank Negara Malaysia would be advantageous.
